Day Two The Difficult Islander

I woke up the next morning with the sun shining into the bedroom. My night's sleep was not brilliant, it seems I wasn't used to having so many people in one room sleeping. It didn't help that Matt seemed to take a lot of the bed leaving me with little room. Part of this must have been Matt's need to cuddle. However as I turned over I noticed Matt was gone, I thought this was strange as I didn't think he was a morning person, perhaps I was wrong? When I looked around the room in noticed a few of the beds were empty so I thought Matt must have left with one of the others. 

I then noticed Samuel and Tyrone under the covers giggling. I decided to get up and sneak out of the room and leave them to whatever they were doing. Throwing on my red shorts from yesterday and grabbing a pair of sunglasses I walked outside. As the sun hit me I quickly noticed a gathering at the pool. Hugo had all the tops apart from Samuel around him but I happened to see Tyler within the mix. Hopefully, he was keeping Hugo, Hayden, Matt, George and Alfie in check. 

I hadn't had a chance to have a one to one chat with Tyler yet about yesterday and the situation we are all in. Hopefully, This would change today, it was important we were on the same page. I walked over to the everyone and was greeted warmly. Matt put his arm around me and gave me a small hug. "Jake was just saying that I need to get to know the couples in here and see what my options are. Would you like to play the good cop for me, Jake?" Hugo asks sweetly as he flicks his legs in the water. Tyler gave me another one of his looks but I knew exactly what he was saying. Which was to not to join in and I agreed. "You mean good cop and bad cop? Why do we need to do this?" I asked. "We can just say it's two boys with lots of questions if you like?". Tyler then stepped in rescuing me, "I think it's a bit silly, just get to know everyone naturally and in time". "I don't exactly have much time do I?". "Anyway, Tyler and Alfie how are both of you getting on?" I asked changing the subject which Tyler seemed pleased about. "Yeah Tyler's pretty hot keeps you on your toes" Alfie replied and smiled. "Someone has to" he smiles and then turns to Hugo who has Hayden and George sitting next to him. "So Hugo, how are you deciding on who to pick tonight?". "I'm not sure. I feel like I can't just go with who's the sexiest guy. I have to have a connection with someone". "You need to have a good feeling and good vibes with someone" Hayden agreed. 

There was a moment of silence as Hugo looked like he was thinking. Luckily George broke this by speaking. "Why don't we talk about awkward experiences we have had sexually?". "That's random, you first then" I advised. "This one time I was about to do it with a twink in the kitchen. He was sitting on the counter, I was between his legs but we didn't have a condom so it was a bit of an anti-climax". "I mean I don't really see what the issue is. It's better without one anyway" Matt replied seeming puzzled. "You go without?" George asked. "I don't think I've ever worn one". "Gross, diseased much" Tyler gasps and steps aside. "I'm with Matt, much better without" Hayden agrees. "I do and I don't depending on the guy" Alfie announced. "Well don't worry George there's plenty of condoms in for you now that me, Hayden and Alfie have stepped aside" Matt laughs and Hayden follows after. "Don't make fun of George for being safe. He's a cutie" Hugo says sweetly making George blush. 

"What about flirting when coupled up?" Hayden asked. "Touchy subject mate" Matt advised. "I think it's fine as long as you don't act on it" Alfie announced as Tyler did not look impressed. "That's very disrespectful if you're doing that to me". "I think it's a bad sign to be honest if you're with someone and he's flirting with other guys," I said siding with Tyler. "I'm not saying you can't be attracted to other boys but keep it in your pants" Tyler sighed. 

"Where are Tyrone and Samuel?" Hugo asked. "They are still in bed together," I told him. "Those two seem to be very close, very fast. It's a bit much" Matt told the group. "I'm a bit sick of it, to be honest. Seems fake to me" Tyler sighed again. "I think you should couple with Samuel. His body is really nice and he seems like a sweet guy" Tyler continued as turned to look at Hugo. "That might be a good idea, we don't want them two forming some sort of alliance to get rid of people" Hayden advised. "We don't vote people off mate, it's not a talent show" Matt laughed. "Do you think I'd have a chance of getting between those two?" Hugo asked. "I doubt it, they've gone into full power couple mode," Alfie told him. 

Hugo then turns to me and Matt, "So how strong are you two then after last night?". "Well, I think me and Jake are strong. What do you think?" Matt asked as he turned to me. "Oh yeah, I agree" I replied smiling at him. I felt really happy that Matt told Hugo to his face that he was happy with me. I was hoping this would make Hugo back off and look towards one of the other couples. Hugo looked down seeming sad, "I really want to do the right thing. I also don't want to push you and Tyler away. Colin seems really nice too but no matter what I do I am going to upset someone". "Or you could choose to be single for the next few days" Tyler suggested. "No, that doesn't seem like a good idea. Not if I actually want to stay here". "Well, I'm off to have a strategy chat with Ethan. Coming Jake?" Tyler asked as he started to leave the group. "Actually I was thinking, me and Jake should have a chat" Matt suggested looking at me. 

The two separated, Tyler headed inside and Matt headed over towards the day beds both leaving me to choose who to speak to first. I decided at this moment Matt was more important. With Hugo on the prowl, I need to spend a lot of time with him. This would hopefully keep distance between him and Matt but also show Hugo that me and Matt are strong. 

I walked over to the daybeds and laid beside Matt. He didn't seem surprised I chose him over Tyler. He smirked and laid on his side looking at me and giving my bum a slap. "What did you want to chat about" I laughed. "I thought you handled the situation over there well. I think Tyler would have started a fight with Hugo". "Me and Tyler are close, therefore we are looking out for one another and for Ethan too". "I've got close to Hayden, me and him get on. More importantly, I think it's good you showed the others we are strong, I want to be better than the others. At the end of the day, you're a good looking guy and you've got yourself a good looking fella. So we need to show them we own this" Matt explained. "So is this what you wanted to tell me?" I laughed. "Did you mean what you said? When you agreed with us being strong?". "Yes I did, I do really like you if I'm honest". "Good I'm glad and I'm glad you said it with the others there. I don't want the other guy thinking they can just take you away as much as I like them. We can always find a way to stay together". Matt and I stop talking for a moment, we looked at each other and he leaned in for a kiss. I moved forward a little and kissed him on the lips, Matt pulled me in with one arm and brought me close to his chest. After we let our lips go I spoke, "good kisser". "Not so bad yourself" he replied. "So are you up for doing things in the villa?". Matt bursts out laughing, "I'm not asking, I'm wondering" I laugh back. "Basically you're saying you want me to f**k you and that's fine I'm a hot guy" Matt smirks. "That's not what I meant" I smile. "Yeah, I guess I would. Who do you think will f**k first though?". "Probably Tyrone and Samuel, I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't already. But then Tyler is a wild one so maybe him". 

"JAKE! GET UP HERE!" Tyler shouts from the roof terrace. I laugh and say goodbye to Matt leaving him to lounge on the day bed. I hurry up to the roof seeing Colin, Tyler, Ethan and Tyrone sitting waiting for me. "Well, now that Jake is here we can start this meeting. Time is short Jake you can play with Matt later". Tyler announced. "Don't worry Jake, I think we need to be with our men to keep Hugo away" Tyrone told me. "Well first things first, Hugo seems like he is most interested in Hayden and Matt. That's what I could tell from this morning". "Ugh really? He flirted with Hayden in front of me last night" Colin sighed seeming annoyed. "Being truthful babe, I don't think Hayden seemed to mind this morning. Before Jake joined us the two were flirting" Tyler explained, "what about George?" Ethan asked. "Not too much that I noticed". "Well at least I know" Colin sighed again. "What about Samuel, has he spoke about him?" Tyrone asked. "He was in the conversation and Hugo didn't seem against the idea. He even asked if he stood a chance of getting between you both" I told him. "Ugh, What did you guys say?". "Well, he tried to get Jake to help him flirt with the boys. Luckily Jake turned it around onto me and Alfie which I totally respect" Tyler said seeming pleased. "So more on Sam please" Tyrone interrupted. 

Tyler rolls his eyes as Tyrone wasn't looking. "Well, he knows you both stayed in bed today. Well everyone knows". "Oh, we didn't have s*x! Just maybe some playful things" Tyrone said sounding defensive. "Should we be annoyed at Hugo for finding his soul mate?" Ethan asked. Colin laughed and spoke, "there's no such thing as soulmates". "I disagree, I think there's someone out there for everyone," I told him. Colin looks away from me, as Tyler speaks up, "I'm with Ethan and Jake". "Look the point is none of us wants Hugo to come between us and our men. I'll be devastated if he gets between me and Sam" Tyrone said sounding deflated. "We should all chat to our men" Colin suggested as we all got up and left the roof. 

It seemed the chat would have to wait as soon Ethan received a text for today's challenge. Everyone gathered around as he read out the message to everyone.

Islanders, it's time to get to know one another and your partners better. Today's challenge is two truths and a lie. However, only some islanders will be participating not every islander will get a turn.

"Oh no, I'm not very good at games like this. I can never think of anything good" Hayden said seeming unhappy with the game. "Aw come on it's not that hard. Start thinking now of two facts about yourself and one lie. Then if it's your turn you'll already know" I explained touching his arm to reassure him. As I did I noticed just how muscular but soft Hayden was, his skin was very silky and smooth but yet his stance was so masculine and broad. 

"I bet Tyrone and Samuel will know each other's answers. Jake said they spent all day f*****g" Matt teased as Hayden and the other guys laughed. "Ugh, it was you that told everyone" Tyrone snapped. "Oops" I giggled. "to be fair, you were under the covers while I was still asleep. You could have just waited till I got up or woke me up to get me to leave" I continued. Tyrone rolled his eyes at me as Samuel walked him away to the fire pit not looking impressed. 

The rest of us joined and Tyrone was given the first text telling him to go first. He stood up turning to Samuel and spoke, "I sing in a choir, I make a great roast dinner, I was once kicked out a water park". "I think it's the water park, he's well behaved" Samuel called out to the group but not everyone agreed. "No it's the roast dinner because he works really hard and long hours" Colin suggested. Others also gave their opinions but Ethan spoke last, "It's Samuel's choice, you choose what you want. He stuck with what he said originally but he was wrong and the lie was that he could cook. This was due to what Colin saying was true. Tyrone works a lot and doesn't have time to cook but he also isn't good at it either. Tyrone seemed annoyed with Samuel getting his answer wrong and he sat down. 

Samuel was up next and he stood up to speak. "I collect action figures, my favourite crisp is monster munch and I have a pet snake". "I think it's the action figures, we would have spoken about that if he did," Tyrone said. "It's probably the crisps because it's the most plain out of the three" Colin suggested. I looked over at Tyler who was being quiet and he seemed bored rigid. As I turned back, Samuel revealed the lie was the snake to Tyrone's surprise. 

"Guess f*****g all day doesn't help you get to know a person" Matt teased as Hayden and George laughed backing him up. "Less time in the bedroom and more conversation I think" Hayden teased. 

Other islanders had their turns, Colin and Hayden were next who also got theirs wrong. Hugo did his to the group which Tyler tried to make as awkward as possible. Next up was my turn so I turned to Matt. I took a moment to think and then I spoke, "I have an overflowing amount of clothes for my wardrobe, I have celebrated my birthday in another country and I have stolen my best friends partner in the past". Matt looks at me and says, "well I think I know what it is. I've seen Jake's section of clothing in the dressing room and the suitcase he brought with him so that's clearly true. Everyone's celebrated a birthday abroad so the lie must be the boyfriend stealer" he explained. Hugo suddenly popped up and spoke, "This is a good chance for me to see how close you guys are as a couple". Tyler gave me another look and turned himself away from Hugo. I also rolled my eyes and looked back to Matt. "Yeah not one hundred per cent confident but it's probably the boyfriend one". "That's right" I cheered giving him a hug. 

With my turn being over an alarm sounded for the game to end, some islanders were disappointed they didn't get a turn. However with that over, I received a text. People were dispersing so I quickly called them to come back over and read the text.

Islanders, it's time for Hugo to choose who he wants as his partner. Everyone needs to gather around the fire pit for his first coupling.

Suddenly tension circled around us as everyone started to speak to one another before sitting down. Hugo started to take his place in front of everyone quickly. "If Hugo picks me, we can always pick each other another time" Matt suggested. "I guess that can happen. I'm hoping it doesn't though" I say as I take my seat around the fire pit. 

"I never thought I'd be in this position. It's not ideal for me as well as it isn't for you guys. I want to thank you guys for welcoming me into the villa and it wasn't easy playing catch up. However, I came here like most others to find love so I have to make my choice. I think Jake is quite cool as well as Tyrone and Colin. To be honest I pretty much like you all. That made my choice even harder, however, the guy I want to couple with is Matt". 

A few people gasped as my eyes widened with shock. Suddenly Matt stands up and everyone's eyes are on me. "You b***h!" I shout standing up as Hugo and everyone else seemed shocked at my outburst. "I knew you had eyes for him you slag!" I shout. "JAKE!" Tyrone yelled. "Stay out of this, Tyrone!" Tyler snapped as he got up in front of him. "You could have just told us the truth and what you were thinking but no you had to be a complete snake and go behind our backs. You trashy w***e!" I said as I went to move closer to him but Hayden the human building stood up and wrapped his long arms around me holding me back, "Woah, Jake, not a good idea" he said in a reassuring and calming voice. "It was a really hard choice" Hugo explained. "f**k off, you had eyes for him since the moment you walked in" I shouted. "You're being so unfair Jake!" Hugo snapped. "I'm being unfair! At least I'm not a snaky wanker like you!" I said trying to break from Hayden's grip but he was too strong. "Come on let's go," Hayden said firmly as he picked me up and threw me over his shoulder taking me away from the situation. "Get off me Hayden, I'm not finished with him!" I shouted as Tyler and Ethan hurried along following me and Hayden. 

The evening came too soon and I was raging at Hugo. Me, Tyler, Hayden and Ethan stood in a quiet location behind the villa. Tyler and Ethan were there for support and Hayden was there making sure I didn't do anything stupid. I was pacing up and down as Ethan spoke, "talk about a plot twist to the evening". "He should have stayed single out of respect to us and waited for someone else to come in" Tyler replied sounding annoyed. Suddenly Tyrone came over just overhearing the last part of the conversation, "I've been looking for you guys, but come on Tyler that's not how this works he had to choose. I've got to say, if I am honest, Jake and Tyler are the people I'm vibing with the least. As much as I feel for your situation Jake, that's just how I feel and it's probably how Hugo felt". I was about to yell at Tyrone but Tyler stepped in first. "Yeah everyone's sunshine and rainbows as long as we don't go near or take Sam away from you right?" He snapped. Tyrone opens his mouth to speak but Ethan cuts him off, "Look Jake is the only one that matters right now! Jake, Hugo isn't around so how do you feel about this?". "Tyler is right, he should have stayed single and waited for a newbie. He's complete trash if you ask me". Colin also rushes over after finding us standing together. "Hey Jake, I get that you might be upset, however, I think Hugo was just being true to himself in what he wanted. If it helps, you're now going to be the one after one of our men". "I guess I don't have a choice, but if I can avoid hurting you boys I certainly will". Tyler nods at me approvingly after hearing what I said and gives me a hug. 

Everyone eventually started to drift back to the villa to get ready for this evening. Hugo kept his distance and stayed outside while myself and the others got ready. 

I was one of the last outside, I was on edge. I felt nervous to be single, hurt that I would have to witness Matt, my crush cosy up to another boy. I stepped onto the patio wearing a white and black t-shirt, blue shorts and smart loafers. I saw everyone scattered in small groups drinking and chatting. I took a glass of champagne left out on a table and sat alone on one of the daybeds. I felt it was a perfect place to sit, I wasn't too near everyone but I wasn't too far away either.

I sat alone for just over five minutes when Matt came over to sit next to me. "Alright?" He asks looking at me. "I've had better days" I sigh. "Tell you what. We don't know each other that well but I was quite happy to be coupled with you for the day". "Thanks, your not so bad yourself," I said giving a small smile. "I guess we better cut to the chase. You are clearly annoyed at Hugo but how do you feel now that you've had time to breathe and think?". "I still want us to work if I'm honest". "I'd still say you are my type if I'm honest. I still think it's early days and that we should still get to know each other better" he explains as he moves a bit closer to me. 

I follow him and move a little closer so that our arms were touching when suddenly someone clears there throats behind me. My heart pounded, I couldn't tell if it was shock or rage seeing Hugo behind us. "Can I get you both anything, some snacks, a condom perhaps?". "Excuse me?" I snapped about to get up when Matt rests his hand on my knee to prevent me. "Don't worry it's what we are all here to do, flirt a lot" he explains and gives Matt a kiss on the cheek and walks off to rejoin the others. "I guess I should probably see where he's going before any more drama unfolds," Matt says as he leaves me alone. 

The rest of the evening was fairly dull for me, the tops didn't come and chat to me, perhaps I scared them off with my outburst? On a positive note, every so often Tyler and Ethan came over and comforted me. 

Once the evening began to come to a close I got unchanged into my nightwear and decided I didn't want to sleep in the same room as everyone else. I would have been the only single person in a bed and I would have had to have seen Matt and Hugo cuddle up together or maybe more. 

I decided that I would sleep out on the day beds instead, I grabbed my pillow and a light blanket from a cupboard and placed them on the daybed. 

Just as I was lying down Tyler came and sat with me. "Hey, I thought I'd give you some company". "What about Alfie?". "Please if he doesn't like it, he can get a grip. My boys come first" Tyler told me as he climbed into bed with me. He rolled over and strokes my head with his fingers running through my hair. "You know it's funny, being out in this villa has made me feel a little homesick. It reminds me of home, in South Africa". "I knew you had an accent but I couldn't place you somewhere" I chuckled. "Yes, I'm South African. I came to the UK for a new life, a fresh start, South Africa is nice in some ways but not in others". "Are you happy in the UK?". "Again it's good in some ways and not in others. Anyway, do you want to talk about the obvious?" Tyler asks giving me a knowing look as if he knows something I don't. "You know what, not tonight, I've had enough". "Are you sure Jake?". "Yeah, not tonight," I say resting my eyes. "Out of curiosity how does it feel when you think of those two getting it on. It must have crossed your mind?".  "To be honest if they do they do. I would be more upset with Matt if they did because I think that's disrespectful towards me". "I agree, today has been tough but tomorrow will be better. You get some sleep" Tyler says softly as we rest our heads on the pillow and drift off to sleep.
