When the brunch meeting had finally concluded John and Kimberli said their goodbyes. Kimberli had begun the long series of hugs, and John followed suit, beginning with Mr. Malone. She internally snickered, as she considered how cringy she found him when they first met. However, now he has become a surrogate father of sorts. She supposed they had grown close because of their love for John. Either way, she was grateful for the change.
"You keep our boy out of trouble," Mr. Malone joked.
She groaned as if the weight of the world were upon her, then replied, "I will try."
Mr. Malone chuckled, as he stepped aside. Mr. Hall, embraced her, before saying, "He's one to talk. I have been trying to keep this fellow out of trouble for so long, my hair has turned gray."
