Andreas gave a deep throaty laugh, "Now, is that a way to say hello to your fellow comrade?" He glared back at him.
Damien sighed with a shake of his head, he walked in to his office and shut the door right behind him "you shouldn't be here, Andreas" he proceeded to walk to his mini bar and pour himself a glass of bourbon.
"I know that too well, I'm here because it's a matter of urgency" Andreas swiftly moved himself to Damien and took the cup from his hand.
"And now he steals" Damien sent a glare his way before pouring himself another. "Why are you here, Andreas?" He drank from his glass.
Andreas scoffed "Two nights ago, I and three other Dark crescent warriors went on a patrol of the city," he took a sip of the drink "It was a normal patrol, ya know," he sighed and leaned on the table "We weren't expecting them, not that we were not ready but they just..." He gave a short laugh "These rogues were like we've never seen before, they were more brutal, ruthless and demented" he spat "the two of them went through us like we were nothing, their eyes were dead red and had no spec of emotion in them" he looked up at Damien "they're getting worse each time, Damien"
Damien walked over to Andreas, he didn't understand the initial look of melancholy in his eyes before it melted into anger but he could imagine what had caused it. "Only two of us survived that night, those frickin bastards decapitated our men like they were flies!" He had venom in his voice "we could only manage to kill one of them and barely injured the other". Andreas downed what was left of the bourbon and dropped the glass.
"Why didn't you call for backup?" Damien asked.
"Well... We were kind of caught up" Andreas spat and Damien nodded placing his glass on the table too.
"What do you think is making them more powerful?" Damien asked furrowing his brows and Andreas shrugged.
"It could be the devil himself for all I know, can you imagine how many humans would be massacred if we don't get them?" Damien sighed.
"Well, thank God they can only move at night"
"That's more of a curse," Andreas shook his head "you know the night light strengthens them, and f**k us if it's a full moon." He paused "Whatever they're taking or doing to make them this crazy just goes against all laws of the supernatural" Damien nodded in agreement.
"I'm so sorry I wasn't there to help you that night" he placed his hand on Andreas shoulder "may they rest now" he stated and Andreas nodded.
He stood up with a sigh "I just had to come see you before the briefing later today, you'll probably not have found out and not be prepared" Damien nodded.
"Thank you, brother" he hugged him and they both patted each others backs "I'll see you later today" Damien assured and Andreas gave a short smile.
"You better" he turned around and left his office in a speeding blur sending some papers on his table flying.
Damien stayed for a few minutes in his office and pondered on what Andreas had just told him, his blood boiled at the havoc rogues were causing and at the fact that the war with them might just be starting for real.
His driver, Andy opened the door for him to enter his car when he got outside and he took a few seconds to scan the environment before getting in.
"Amelia?" He called out to her the moment he entered into the car.
"Yes, Sir?" She turned her head to look at him from the front seat.
"What are you doing all the way in the front?" He inquired with furrowed brows.
"Uh... I just thought it would be modest" she replied.
"Modest, is you not having to turn everytime I need you" he sighed in exasperation "get back here now" he ordered and she obeyed immediately.
"Cancel my dinner with Miss Young" he said simply when she got in.
"But, Sir I already..." He ended her protest.
"I'm sure she wouldn't mind, Amelia" he looked down at her with a smile that sent her body warm all over. "family always forgives" he added and she wrinkled her brows in confusion, an act that promoted him to explain himself. "You really are a novice at all these, aren't you?" he raised a brow "well... Miss Young is my cousin" he said simply and even though she was still confused, she protested no more and just went ahead to contact her.
Even though his meeting with the bank was a success, Damien couldn't manage a smile or a satisfied sigh. "Cancel the rest of my appointments, Amelia" he said simply. Having already met with Andreas, and knowing what was at stake he was itching to go to the Sanctum for the briefing and know what the line of action would be. He needed a form of relaxation before he went though, he was way too tense.
"I'll do just that now, Sir" Amelia replied "is there anything else you need from me?" She asked "you've not had lunch" she stated, and he smirked, lunch was exactly what was on his mind. "I could order you lunch from anywhere you want" she suggested and he smiled at her wittiness.
The last time he actually fed and not on human food was about a week ago and he craved for some good O+ nutrient. He looked down at Amelia next to him. "Actually," he smirked "lunch is just what I need right now" he sighed "But not takeouts," he smirked "take us to The Lafé, Andy" he ordered and Andy immediately changed from the route to the company and to the restaurant. Damien was going to have some fun before he went and crushed some rouge skulls.
