By 4pm, Damien drove into the Sanctum and walked in just as Rhys started addressing them, just like everyone, Damien was equally dressed in his warrior attire and took a sit.
"As we all know, Werewolves are natural creatures of this land and when our forbearers came to this world and made us by mating with the human women we also became part of this world. But over the years the Werewolves have been threatened by our existence and strength. Our ability to drink of the blood of humans and our ability to be invulnerable by living for centuries. They're fear sent them to believing that one day we vampires would m******e them and they'll all go extinct" he gave a brittle laugh
"The first Werewolf to begin the change was the Alpha from a clan in Hawaii, his wife was a witch and aided him to begin his shenanigans. Under the full moon, they would kill a vampire, drink of it's blood and they would become outrageous monsters, abominations. We all thought their experiment would stabilize overtime and maybe they'll become something sort of an hybrid and so we didn't engage them. But we were wrong" He looked at everyone in the room.
"What started as a seemingly harmless act to gain power went out of even their own hands. These creatures were mindless, ruthless and thoughtless beasts, they acted without emotion and killed even their own people. Even though most Werewolves are opposed to the act, some are still out there, just trying to gain more power. Over the years, we've found out that only Titanium can fully defeat them and now it seems they have devised a means to be more powerful. Rogues we've been encountering seem to be more blood crazed and dangerous more than ever." He paused
"We mourn our fallen brothers but we must move on and avenge them," he paused again "We investigated the matter and we still don't know what they're doing differently and I just wish there was a way to make them understand that no matter how much they try, they'll never be like us or even stronger and they just have to understand that and stop causing havoc on humanity like this" Rhys sighed, he was never one for violence but he couldn't just stop it.
" Tonight the city would have some rogues in it, they would kill humans, maybe even kids and it's our duty to stop them for their acts are unlawful. We set out by nightfall but in the meantime, get ready because the night is dangerous" he added and there was an uproar of hailing and chants before they all dispersed to get geared up.
"It's nice to have you here with us, Damien" Rhys smiled with a nod.
"Always" Damien gave a nod too
"Nice to have him get down from his thrown to be with us here" Vlad, a fellow Dark crescent member joked and Damien smirked
"Nice to see you too, brother" the both of them hugged and patted each others backs.
They both walked to the Armory and Damien smiled at the sight of all the weapons, it was like no human armory. It was just deadly beautiful.
"You coming for dinner?" Vlad asked, he had put his hair in a bun and his dark smile almost tempted him.
"I already ate" Damien smirked
"Killer" Vlad snickered "must be her sweet scent I smell on you" he mused
"Maybe" Damien smirked, but he was quite sure it was Amelia's scent that still lingered with him.
"Nope" Andreas came with a flash "that's his sexy new personal assistant" he smirked and Damien dismissed him.
"She's not sexy" he rolled his eyes "she's too young" he added
"But that's exactly what you like?" Vlad chuckled "Young, fragile and helpless" he smirked "so you can have your sweet way with them"
Damien furrowed his brows "why are you painting me as a predator, predator" he smirked "you know my rule, I don't feed on my employees"
"You can always fire her and have her" Andreas raised a brow and Damien paused for a moment.
"She's quite... Efficient" he paused again "I think I'll keep her" he added and they both burst into laughter.
"Poor girl, she's gonna have her hands full with you" Andreas smirked at the s****l innuendo in his words
"f**k off, Andre!" Damien spat, shoving at him "you're such a vulgar bastard"
"Now aren't we all" Andreas grinned and Damien rolled his eyes in irritation.
The night was friggin cold and everyone felt it, but it didn't stop them from trooping out to patrol the city. The savagery and indiscretion of the Rogues jeopardized all of the Breed to exposure to the human race, a threat that Damien and the rest of the Order (Dark crescent community) would not abide to. And there was a larger threat blooming as well.
It has now become apparent that the Rogues were organizing, their numbers increasing, tactics becoming orchestrated toward a goal that seemed nothing short of war. If they weren't stopped, and stopped soon, both humankind and Breed alike could find themselves at the center of a hellish, blood-soaked battle to rival even the worst Armageddon scenario.
For now, while the Order focused on locating the Rogues new command post, the warriors mission was simple. Hunt down and eliminate every Rogue possible. Exterminate them like the diseased vermin they were. It was a charge Damien relished, never more at home than when he was on the move, prowling the streets with weapons in hand, looking for a fight. It kept him alive, he was certain, even more, it kept the darkest of his demons at bay.
Damien followed the stench he knew too well, rounded a corner, then crept into another narrow lane between a couple of old brick buildings. He heard a female scream somewhere ahead of him in the dark. Kicking it into high gear, he sped toward the sound.
And got there hardly a second too soon.
The Rogue had been stalking the two humans and their female companions. It looked young, tricked out in basic goth garb beneath a long black trench coat. But young or not, it was big and it was strong, fierce with hunger. One of the women was held in a death grip, the Bloodlusting vampire already latched on to her throat while the two human guys stood by, shell-shocked and frozen.
Damien pulled a dagger from a sheath on his hip and let it fly. The blade struck hard, embedding between the Rogue's shoulders. The weapon was specially crafted of steel and titanium, the latter metal being extremely poisonous to the corrupted blood systems and organs of the Rogues. One kiss of that deadly blade and a Rogue vampire would start cooking from the inside out at record speed.
Except this one didn't.
It flung a savage look at Damien, its eyes glowing amber, fangs bloody as it hissed a vicious warning. But the Rogue weathered the dagger's assault, holding fast to its prey and swinging its head around to drink with even greater urgency.
"f**k!" Damien spat.
