"Thank you, Officer," Amelia said, feeling like an i***t for creating all the fuss. "I was working late and I heard a noise in my boss's office, I got scared as I was all alone here and called the company's secretary. She is on the speed dial, she must have called you" she explained.
"You shouldn't be at work so late, ma'am," The officer told her.
"I know, I just had a lot of work and I didn't want to take them home because I would have been too lazy to finish them" Amelia evaded his gaze feeling even more embarrassed.
