My irregularities surpass Reality.

Chapter 23- Unexpectedly compatible?

I woke up and felt a soft sensation behind my head. After opening my eyes, I saw the spirit called Ridge, she was quite close to me. In a few moments, I realized that my head was on her lap. It felt really soft too, especially with a beautiful face right up close. I could really get hypnotized by this sensational moment. As her Scent was only making her seem even more attractive, I started to keep wanting to stay like this forever.

[Hey you gonna stay like that forever?]

….!

It was Amanori who got me back from that trance and I jolted up from the lap pillow.

“Sorry about that, I must have fallen asleep.” I said, but it came out a bit too fast. I couldn't help it. I was a little taken aback by Ridge’s beauty, now that her expression had come out in full bloom and that emotionless face was gone, she looked like a seasonal flower in full bloom. Unlike Leila and the other girls I have seen until now, Ridge looked like a full grown lady. And I had to admit.. The allure was definitely effective.

“No matter, but I am happy to see you are fine.”

“Yes, thanks….” I didn't know what to say now, so an awkward silence filled the room.

“Well then shall we go out then…?” Said Ridge 

“Go out….. Then are you going to be my partner from now on?” I asked her to be fully sure.

“Yes you have shown much resolve, so I will be your partner.”

“What…..?” I was a little shocked.

I thought it would be much harder than this to be able to get a spirit you know….

“Well usually this doesn't happen much so since this is the first time an experience like this has happened. I wanted to take it and see what awaits the future.”

“Hmm I see spirits are quite open minded……”

Wait, did she read my mind…?!!

“Certainly I did do that. now that we are partners, there is nothing to hide between us”

“But what about my privacy, this.. this.. is.. like ..like illegal you know.”

“No, that's how spirits are, we know everything about our close ones and the ones we bond with. We can not lie to another. if we don’t want to tell someone about something, the only way to not lie is to avoid the person entirely.” She said in a commanding tone which meant there was no way she would compromise in this matter. But was it just me or was she suddenly a lot more familiar with me and more than that, she stopped calling me a kid or a boy.

Although I was a bit bummed out with this discovery that my thoughts were not secure anymore, I had to accept the fact  and get on with it.

“So how will you come with me? I thought you couldn't get out..”

“Well the restraint that was blocking my way out has disappeared after making a contract with you.” 

“Hmm why did it suddenly disappear like this….hmmm”

Someone able to contain a spirit…… it must be…..

I was starting to think the old man could do things like this without any problems but I stopped my thoughts midway cause Ridge could easily read it and I didn’t want her to find out all of my secrets just yet. She might not even believe me in the first place.

“All right, there's no reason to fret about the problems that are already solved, so let's get going….but how will you go… wouldn't it be a problem if people saw you hanging around like this…”

“Well in the human kingdom no one can see me so don’t worry and since my pressure and presence is already being suppressed by you, I can go anywhere I want. I can even materialize myself in front of you and the others at will now.…”

“I am erasing your presence..?”

{Notice: System has erased the extra pressure of the spiritual being just like it was done with the Weapon Amanori}

Ooh that's a good work system.. You did great.

Well that's just like an AI there. Well, I still like to give praises.

“Alright then let's go, I am sure you will be thrilled to see the world won't you..?”

“Yes I am quite excited too..” Ridge looked more than just a little excited. Who knows how many decades has been since she saw the outside… I can’t even imagine.

We started to go towards the opening of the cave and after a long walk, we reached the opening.

“Hey, were you waiting here all this time?” I asked the maid who had accompanied me to the entrance earlier.

“Yes It was ordered by My liege. So is Mr. Rekka successful in doing what he wanted?” Asked the maid in a cool voice, she was really graceful from the start. Although I told her to just call me Rekka she still won't budge. We should respect everyone's wishes too, so I didn't make a fuss out of it.

“Well yes, I was successful..” I replied looking at Ridge who was floating around me. although I wouldn't be able to show her Ridge, cause only a few humans could see spirits.

“Then I ask Mr. Rekka to meet my Liege. I was told to give you this massage.”

“Well okay will the Overlord meet me now..?”

“Yes I have contacted My Liege and she has said to Bring Mr. Rakka to her.”

“Okay let's go then.”

While going, I chatted with the maid. Her name was Kenery, I couldn't get any more information about her. It must be because of the secrets of the castle, no normal individual should know about it..

I also apologized. She had to wait so long. I got in the cave in the evening and now it was already Night. In a cave you really forget about the passage of time.

I was a little surprised that the overlord had accepted to see me at this time. I moved into the castle and it was more peaceful there, as if very few people were living in it.

I was brought to the same room as last evening and this time actually there were no guards at the door, the door opened and I went inside . while walking to the throne, I didn't feel the pressure like the last time.

 Was the overlord testing me last time?

“I heard you were successful this time...so what blessing did you get?”

She asked me. yesterday's stiffness was gone and she acted a lot naturally now.

“Blessing… um I didn't really go there for that…?” The question was a little puzzling because I never said I went there to get a blessing but I remembered she told me to meet her if I could get a blessing.

“Hmmm…. Then why did you go ...well whatever, I can feel it. It seems the spirit has given you something..” I was thinking maybe she could sense spirit but not see them, cause Ridge was just floating above me, all this time Ridge was just observing her surroundings and even changing her clothes seeing many people’s clothing. 

I was first getting interested in seeing her in many types of dresses but not in front of the overlord. I was giving my full attention to our conversation. Still I have to say, seeing Ridge in a maid dress was kind of exciting. Not to mention since she was floating, I had inadvertently gotten a peek under her skirt. Thankfully Ridge was too occupied to catch me… 

“Well first then, I’d like to introduce myself. Last time I forgot, forgive me for being rude..”

“Oooh yeah I forgot about that too, well so what's your name..?”

“It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. My name in Rekka Wolford Grandfather said a lot about you but meeting you was a great experience.”

“Hmm, hmm? that's an unusual name….hmm! Did you say Wolford..?” her cool expression changed to a surprised one. Leila did this a lot, maybe she got it from her mom.

“Yes, I got it from my grandparents but I thought Miss Leila mentioned me in her letter. Why are you surprised….?” Her surprising expression was not supposed to happen. Leila did say she mentioned me in her letter but the Overlord acted as if she had just heard my name and saw me in a new light..

She promptly made the letter appear and started to read it over again and in the end, she had a face which said she had made a blunder.

The room had gotten unusually quiet. Rekka and Lilith were both in an awkward situation.

“So what did you get…?” Asked Lilith

“To tell you the truth…” Before going forward to say what Rekka wanted. he looked at Ridge. if she had any problem at letting her info get discovered.

“Don't worry you can tell people if you want…” Said Ridge assuring Rekka, then Rekka nodded and looked at The Overlord.

“The thing is I went to form a contract with the spirit that was residing there..”

“What… But how can someone make a contract with a higher existence…?”

“Since I have already controlled Amanori, I took a chance at it if I could do it. And as a matter of fact, I really was able to do it.” Rekka explained as best as he could and while doing so, he also showed Amanori who was on display all this time in front of the Overlord. 

“That's the cursed sword of destruction..?” Asked The Overlord after Rekka had pointed at it.

“Yeah it is..” Replied Rekka.

“But I can't feel any malice from it. Then Master Merlin was really telling the truth all this time…..?” The overlord was talking to herself. Merlin, her master, had told her in his former meeting that this boy had gotten such control over the cursed blade it is hardly believable. Now though seeing that it was true, the same thought went on Lilith's mind.

But she also noticed other facts: the boy didn't have an ounce of malice on him; it was like the whole thing was sucked in never to come out again. It was no wonder that even seeing that ominous looking sword hanging on his back Lilith never even realized that it was the famous sword.

“You know, to tell you the truth, at first I thought you could be a threat, even now I don't think I should leave you alone but My master's wishes are always obeyed by me. So in that case for my peace of mind. What do you really want to do…? Will you answer me that….?” The overlord wasn't the one asking this question, no, it was only Lilith. The Overlord… the title that very few had a chance to acquire. Even with all her power and authority, she asked Rekka as if she was a normal citizen in this country… for some reason, an urge to respect Lilith like a leader had come to Rekka.

Rekka understood somewhat what the burden the overlord was carrying, she asked this question on the guise of a normal citizen. So Rekka also thought to answer his true desires.

“This is embarrassing but…. Living in the wild made me want to live in my own home too you know… but after I really did start living, I felt something, it was the warmth of people...so many people talked to me, they looked after me, so it felt really good living with other people. That's why currently I have one wish and it is to live with everyone, see many people and eat many foods...Also one last thing I want. this was engraved in me when I was living in  the wild……”

“What is it..?” Since Rekka was silent for a bit the Overlord asked..

“To live and survive in the wild you have to be strong, so I want to start getting stronger too…”

“But you have the Cursed blade. I Know it gives power to its user…” said Lilith. It was true in all history the cursed blade wilders had inhuman abilities but that was also why they had downfall.

“I told this to Grandpa too but it seems he didn't tell you.” Rekka said 

“What is it…?”

“It's something about this cursed blade. It's true, it can give you an overwhelming boost in power but you have to have a body that could take that boost, since no one had that kind of body, the power overflowed and made them go insane, I think I can handle 10% of the power the cursed sword can give now. So I want to get stronger and become someone that is suited to not only wield the cursed sword but is the only one worthy to wield the cursed sword of destruction in this world.…” Rekka said his speech and looked at the Overlord.

“I see that you have built up your own goal… I can also see the gentleness that Master had described.. To grow up like this while even in the wild...” The Overlord was perceptive; no boy could be this polite and understanding. that too if he was raised in the wild it was truly unthinkable. He had kindness inside him… and it came naturally… and he wanted to have strength? It is normal for someone to want that. More so who just found a reason to live… it seemed that the heroes had not only felt Rekka as a precious treasure… Rekka felt the same about them...

“I learned by seeing the memories of Amanori’s former wielders, well I learned what not to do the most, so you don't have to worry.” Rekka said with a smile.

“I see well Master did say you are gentle minded from the first time he saw you...I can believe that too or else no spirit would accept someone like that.”

The Overlord seemed to be relaxed after the conversation and then she too smiled. She didn't ask any more questions about Rekka’s powers, his origins or any other info. She only asked about the journey that he had till now and Rekka too answered them with some funny stories he had in the journey. Hearing her Master's other side, The Overlord also laughed as the time passed and the night also moved on.

At last Rekka spent the night at the castle and even took breakfast the next morning. After that both of them talked about many things until...

“My Liege, it's time for your Lunch…” Said the Attendant which brought the Overlord back from the deep conversation She was having with Rekka, only in a few Hours it seemed as if Rekka and the Overlords had become best friends for life, they chatted unconcerned about the time.

The Overlord who had come to the realization that the humans were only declining by the year, she got to understand that someone like Rekka was one of the most important pieces to stop that decline. As Rekka sounded and looked to be looking at the society and this world at large in a completely different view than anyone she had ever known, the overlord couldn’t help but be fascinated by this irregular existence.

The boy who was not normal… and even after that, he found some way to be a part of the society… not only that… he was capable of changing the heroes to also adapt… 

The overlord Who wanted a change in society and the Boy who had otherworldly Ideas was a combination to cook up a storm…… only that the overlord had misjudged Rekka as only a piece, had Rekka started to take Action, the effects would make a completely new game to come out. Only the future could tell if Rekka was going to play the game though?
