Eleven:
Beginning of Goodbye

"Let me go! You will pay for this!" Maria bit out, wiggling against the chair she was tied to, glaring at the smirking king standing smugly in front of her.
The young female was terrified and in pain, having more injuries from when she woke to find herself tied up and she c****d an unfavorable attitude against her keepers, but she would not let her fear show. No, not to give him a bit of satisfaction of seeing her weak. Well, any weaker than she already was, wiggling like a fish out of water.
"You are so feisty, my dear. That is a fine trait in a rat queen, no one will walk over you, my love!" Adam declared happily as his hand made her face point towards his, his grin leaking the deadliest breathe Maria had the misfortune to smell. The breath almost broke her into a gagging fit, however her will didn't let her.
Instead, she just growled her displease, still struggling against the ropes. She wanted to kick him where it mattered, but sadly her legs were tightly tied to her panels:
"You never learn, do you Adam? I will never be you, will never love you. And you can't force me, I'm already mated. You cannot break that." She sneered, grunting when Adam dug his claws into her cheeks, drawing beads of blood.
"I beg differ, darling. I have my ways. There is nothing to keep me from what I desire."
"What?"
Adam smirked devilishly, pulling away from the glaring beauty to fold his paws and then he begun to circle her, his smirk growing as he watched her scowl at his cockiness. He just observed her for a bit before speaking again, thinking about the feelings swirling inside of his chest:
To see her not be afraid of him unlike his other beauties, he grew happy that someone in the worlds wasn't afraid of him and he felt odd about that fact. The king wasn't sure if it was a good or a bad thing, remembering the words of his dear mother.
Feelings are the sign of weakness, my beloved. If you are to rule, you must harden your heart. Even to the ones you love.
Adam frowned deeply, snapping back to reality as Maria growled her impatience, cutting her eyes towards the evil king. He hid the beating of his heart behind a chuckle, not wanting Zack and Faith to know that this mere, lowly fairy was affecting him so much, and Adam leaned down to her eyes with a smug smirk placed onto his muscle:
"I have someone who can recreate a mating bond and can make you forget all about your precious Michael. You would love only your king, my dear, and you won't know any better."
Maria gasped, her strength slowly disappearing from her body as the words run through her mind. Was there that kind of magic out in the world? The thought filled her with fear.
The mating bond is the most sacred and oldest tradition in the Faen world, it is the strongest feeling—even more so than mere true love in the human world—a magical being can ever feel. And now, that might be twisted and muddled by a spell?
It made her almost sick to her stomach, the nauseous feeling twisted around her insides as if a hot iron were being held against her skin, dreed dancing with the feeling. She tried to not to show her pain and be her strong self, but as she glared into Adam's black holes of eyes, the tears were slowly pooling in the corners of her eyes. The weak girl who she was before she entered the Faen world was swimming back to the surface.
And right now, she needed the new strong, firy self she became:
"Why me? You have plenty of pretty…mice to marry. So, why do you want a fairy? We are moral enemies, Rat." Maria whispered, to hide her growing fear. She would not let him see her breakdown, that would give him all the power:
The rat smirked wide, sensing the change in the blonde as he drew back from her and traced a lone claw down her soft cheek.
"Because of your strength and beauty, Maria. You have something inside of you that they will never have, something that makes you a great queen, and you will be mine. Like it or not, you are mine. And sweetie, I don't want to hurt you, I want to love you…"
"Love me? You can't love, you just hate and control. It's in your DNA. You are a monster; you will always be." Maria growled deeply through her teeth, cutting him off as she narrowed her eyes at him.
Adam winced at that, knowing she had a point. He didn't even know why he was so keen on marrying only the young fairy. The rat once thought that he wanted her for her beauty and power, to make a perfect heir, however now Adam didn't quite sure what he wanted from Maria. Adam slowly grew fearful as his desires turned from ruling the Faen world with an iron fist to giving everything to this feisty young woman.
He sighed at the thought, shaking his head to free himself from the confusing thoughts, and dropped his paw to his side, and then he turned to give Zack the order to escort his bride to her room.
But then, an angry sound broke the intense silence after the cold reply and he swirled to see Faith racing towards Maria with her claws ensnarled towards her and the other hand around her beautiful neck, a snarl laced to the slightly older woman's lips:
"You have no right to talk to him like that, you disgusting fairy! You should be grateful that he wants your ugly ass!"
"Faith! Back away from her right now or you'll be punished harshly and not even Zack would be able to help you." Adam threatened through a fierce growl, grabbing Faith's arm hard as a scowl danced across his lips. The female shook with fear, but she held his heated glare:
"But, my king, she disrespected you. She needed to be taught—"
"She is your queen! You will not touch her, no matter what she will utter, do you understand me?"
The rat growled while he heaved the young mouse towards his faithful knight, casting a deadly glare that made the couple shiver in fear before Adam slowly moved towards the heavily-breathing fae, as if she would be even angrier if he went too fast.
"I'm sorry, my dear, they were taught to punish anyone who talks back to me. But you can do anything you want." Adam soothed as he pushed her into a grand room.
While Maria scowled at the rat, preparing to attack him once she was freed from the ropes, she quickly let her eyes roam the simple but pretty room to see if there were any escape routes. Sadly, the windows showed bright and hot dancing flames, locking her in the room.
She bit back a groan, sliding her guarded gaze back to her prisoner as he loosed the tight hold on her arms but just enough for her to work the ropes from her arms as he escaped the room:
"I hope you enjoy your new home, beautiful Maria, because you'll be spending a lot of time with the enemy, either or not you want to. You're mine now." He was back to his cocky self, grinning over his shoulder as Adam closed the door behind him.
"I'll never be yours! You can do all the magic you want, but it will not be real." She growled harshly, throwing the untied ropes at his head; missing it and hitting the door.
-.-.-.-.-.-
After a few more days of them trying to get her imply to the king's desires, Maria hugged herself to the wall of her 'room', praying that Michael wasn't freaking out too much.
But the young fairy knew it was useless, he would be in a fiery rage and it would be impossible to stop him. You do not mess with a fairy's mate, ever, if you wanted to live.
She smiled at the thought as her hands rubbed the fresh wounds they gladly gave her, which weren't too horrible in pain, but would land her in the hospital once again.
Even if it was the first time in a month, Maria hated having to go to any hospital though Da Fae's heath care buildings might be very different from the human world's.
The beautiful blonde rolled her green eyes at the thought, not so happy about that fact that she had to learn how different they are. Maybe I won't have to go, this might be the day I will have to disappear, she mused sadly. She scolded herself about thinking that and let out a sigh as she moved to the edge of the hard bed.
At least, Maria fought with her everything like she promised her friends weeks ago, landing a few injuries on Adam and his followers, while they were trying to get her to imply with their wishes of her being their new queen.
The Rats' plan of turning the fairy princess into one of them had the laughter came bubbling up from her chest again, finding it so ridiculous.
Maria is not built to be a rat, and Adam had to know that she was going to not be easy to break her and make her implied to his wishes. No matter what kind of spell he used on her, Maria was a fairy truly and thoroughly, his moral enemy. Maria will never bend to the evil king, and Maria is not going to let him break her vow to stay herself.
The blonde finally has a purpose and she is going to do everything in her power to fulfill her destiny to rid her home of the horrible rats once and for all.
She sighed as Maria hugged her knees to her chest, looking out of the small window at the reddish flames of the rats' home, and let her mind wander to her friends:
They were probably calling on other magical beings now because the Rats had gone too far and they have to pay hard. Oh, she wanted to help them but the blonde doesn't know how to summon her powers easily and the door to the small cell was locked. She was away from the battlefield…
But, wait…
She now remembered that Locia and Alicia had made a bag of things she needed if she gotten kidnapped. Maria grinned as she reached into the bag on the back of her chair, pulling out a pair of sweatpants and a plain t-shirt along with her bow and a couple of arrows.
Maria grinned devilishly once more. They really should've checked her bag, but so too bad they overlooked it, she giggled at that thought as the young woman pulled her torn dress over her head, dressing in the sweats and t and redoing her tight braid, feeling strong once more.
Don't count me out just yet, Maria thought smugly as she repacked the bag with the once-beautiful pale green gown and flats, putting her bow and arrows out of sight.
Maria smiled, waiting for an opening. She won't be weak anymore, she will be stronger…
