With Vegas in the rear view Alli was heading to Laughland, She was going to meet up with her folks, and Lee was beside her. She was glad she didn't have to go alone, and silently thanked him over and over for being supportive. As they drove towards Laughland, Alli could see all the casinos were on docked ships, some looked like they were beached They parked underground in the parking garage, and took the elevator to the casino floor. Alli saw her mom and dad and a few other members of her family sitting around slot machines. Lee had her hand in a tight grip and they both hated this time of year, but they did it for her family. Her parents hugged her then started to tell her how they wished she was living her life. Alli gave Lee a signal that released him, he kne with her family it was best to keep distance. He nodded and took off for the next few hours. Alli endured being lectured by her father for not just being a fat, sassy, over materialistic woman that he had intended to raise. He was angry that she wasn't eating enough in his opinion and ushered the family to the nearest all you can eat buffet. Alli not being hungry, ate little which started his lectures again.
Later her mother made her sit beside her to play slots, though Allie never dropped a cent in to a machine, the old woman was happy all the same. Her mom told her that she had made some arrangements for her the next day. She was to meet someone and it would be around ten am at another casino. Alli knew it would be another marraige scheme. None of her family like she was a militia spy, or that her and Lee had married a long time back. They didn't know of what she did, and she had no intentions on telling them, but she had had enough for the day and excused herself.
On her way out of the casino she ran in to one of her uncles, he was drunk and rude. Alli then ran into two of her cousins who wanted her to go walking though all the stores, she obliged for a little bit. As they walked down the hall Alli suddenly felt deja vu, and suddenly she was ready to leave. Alli turned around and walking as fast as she could she stepped out into the night air. The entire city shown with their bright lights. Alli started to walk towards the next casino before a hand slid over her mouth, with in a moment she had dropped out of the mans grip, she then spun and got ready to defend herself. Alli started laughing as she realized it was Lee. He had a big grin and that was all it took for her to want to try again to do the social scene. Lee pulled her into his arms and kept her restrained but seem please she just reacted. They walked over to the mall, images of a giant adult and children play area, with ropes bouncy houses, and obstical course flashed in her mind. Deep down she knew it was no longer there but it didn't stop the want to do all the fun things again. Sighing Alli relaxed in Lee's arms thrilled with is closeness. While at the mall Alli felt they were being shadowed. They browsed through the shops and when both finally had enough of people they went back to their room.
The next morning Alli woke and told Lee she was going to see what this arrangement was her mother was speaking of. She then went downstairs and found her mom at a slot machine by the nearest exit to the south. As they walked to another casino that was just down from where they were staying they chatted. Alli found out her mom had met this man through a friend of hers at a casino tournament. As they walked up the grand staircase Alli felt nervousness build with in her, suddenly as they reached the top of the steps she was standing face to face with the man in white. Shock ran through Alli, as they did a formal introduction, to the unschooled they looked like a couple of people who had just met. Though to one who knew the language of spies, the man in white told her much through the pleasantries. It took awhile but she was finally able to escape to the river walk. She had a range of emotions, she wasn't to shocked that her mother had wanted her to marry the man in white. She knew they just wanted to use her as a pawn but she wasn't going to have it. She had a lot to process of what the man told her, she found a bench and sat down staring out at the water.

Lee had seen Alli's mom at the casino they were staying at, and noticed Alli was no where around. A nagging feeling made him step out and start looking for Alli. He went in to the casino she had gone to. He seen the politician in the lobby of the casino with other politicians he had seen in Vegas. He then walked a narrow out of the casino towards the river. He spotted her sitting on a bench she looked like she was shivering. So he quickened his step to get to her, once he was beside her he wrapped her in his jacket. She continued to stare out at the river, as if he was not there.
Lee had always thought that Alli's family were ridiculous in the way they treated her. They belittled her and that is what made him angrier than the rest of their childish ways. She had always taken anything they threw at her with a smile in place, even though afterward she always broke down. She wore the look she did when he had to tell her that she was no longer his... Immediately he reached down and pulled her to her feet she tried to speak to him, he could see her lips moving but she made no sound. Lee knew with out a doubt she needed to get away from Laughland so he gently guided her toward their room. He had always allowed her to chose when they were to leave but this time he had to do what was right for her. Alli was one of the strongest women he knew and he was not going to let them do more damage. Once in their room Lee packed up and Alli assisted silently. Allie followed him through the casino and down into the underground garage. Suddenly she stopped blood had drained from her face, she saw the man in white down in the parking garage and didn't know how to react at the moment. Lee spun her around and places his baseball cap on her head. She smiled at him with gratefulness, then bowed her head and followed him closer. Irritation towards her family bubbled inside of Lee Just seeing what had gone on with them made him want to protect her from them as well. He wondered why seeing the politician had caused her to retreat within herself. He breathed easier once they were driving away from Laughland. He was thrilled she still held his hand and looked over to see his angels thoughts were a million miles away.

Alli was feeling lost and a little like s**t, she was not sure what the best course of action would be but knew she needed to report to Mack and see what his thoughts were. She looked over at Lee and was thankful he took control and got her out of Laughland. The girl Charity was taken by the army and no one knew where she was or why she was taken. The man in white just wanted his daughter home, and had told her he would pay anything if she would look for her. Alli knew she couldn't just sit on her hands. Charity was a good girl, and depending on who took her, depended on her treatment. She had no intentions on marring the man in white, though he had always been kinder than most. Her only goal was find Charity barter for her or kidnap her back and get the girl to her father. She would let the militia ask for their payment, for her services but she would not oblige her mother. In her eyes, and heart she was Lee's wife even though they didn't act like it. Alli quietly leaned over and kissed Lee's cheek. Without fuss he reach over unbuckled her then pulled her next to him. She felt heart melt and her eyes misted over because she knew he still loved her even though sometimes his ways were harsh. Alli knew he may end up hating her when she tells him about wanting to go get the girl. Gently he squeezed her hand as if he knew what she was thinking.
