We aren’t going to the playoffs this year which works for me. I have more time to spend with Sarah and my eventful birthday won’t derail the team. Because beyond the ripples of pain and terror this is causing our family, more will spread so far beyond that affecting almost anything and everyone we know. Sarah took my birthday off and will end up having to call in after that. So she’s been hurrying to get her pending projects done quickly. I had to tell our head coach, which hadn’t been easy to explain.
Our families will need to grieve me being gone. And I can’t imagine the phone calls Mama and Dad will be fielding from this. If I wasn’t a well known football player, this would all be much easier.
