CHAPTER 4

Eve's eyes blazed with fury as she stormed out of the private room. She couldn't believe Charlie's secrets, and her mind raced with questions.

She marched out of the house heading straight to his company, determined to confront him. But as she turned a corner out of the mansion, she almost collided with Ryan.

"Eve, what's wrong?" Ryan asked, concern etched on his face.

Eve took a deep breath and recounted everything she had discovered. Ryan's expression turned grave as he listened.

"You can't confront Charlie, Eve," Ryan warned, his voice firm. " Not now, not ever. If you want to stay alive, you need to keep your distance. "

Eve's anger flared. " I don't care about my safety! I want answers! " She said, her pretty eyes were turning red.

Ryan grasped her shoulders, his eyes intense. " Listen to me, Eve. Charlie is not someone to be trifled with. He's dangerous, and if he suspects you know his secrets, he'll stop at nothing to silence you. "

Eve's resolve wavered, but Ryan's words struck a chord. She remembered Charlie's chilling warning: "Don't think about betraying me. I won't tolerate it. "

With a heavy heart, Eve nodded. " You're right. I won't confront him... yet. "

Ryan's grip relaxed, and he offered a reassuring smile.

She planned to find evidence against him, to expose his secrets, and get revenge for her father's death.

Eve walked into her bedroom, her mind still reeling from the conversation with Ryan. But what she saw next made her blood run cold.

"Who are you?" Eve demanded, her voice shaking with anger.

The girl lying in the bed smiled lazily, her eyes fixed on Eve. "I'm someone Charlie wants," Ashley, one of Charlie's numerous girlfriends, said, her voice husky. "And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep him satisfied."

Eve's eyes widened in horror as she took in the scene before her. The girl was naked, her body sprawled across the bed, her long black hair covering her face.

"You're...you're with Charlie?" Eve stuttered.

The girl laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, I'm more than just with him," she said. " I'm his obsession. And soon, I'll be the only one he needs. "

Eve felt a chill run down her spine as the girl's eyes seemed to bore into her soul. She knew she had to get out of there, fast.

But as she turned to leave, she heard the girl's parting shot.

"Tell Charlie I'm ready for him," she said, "And tell him...you're no longer needed."

Eve's heart skipped a beat as she realized the true extent of Charlie's deceit. She knew she had to leave, but as she turned to go, she felt a hand on her shoulder, holding her back…

"You're not going anywhere, Eve," his voice was low and menacing, "You're mine," Charlie said, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity, holding her back and spinning her around to face him.

"It's more intimate this way, don't you think?" Charlie said as he poured out a tequila. "You can watch us, Eve learns from us."

"No I won't" she said, angrily freeing herself from Charlie as she walked out of the room seeking an escape from the tension and emotions that had built up inside.

She stepped out into the cool night air, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. As she walked towards the pool, she saw Ryan swimming laps in the water.

She walked to the pool quietly, not wanting to disturb Ryan's peaceful moment.

But as she reached the edge of the pool, Ryan looked up and saw her standing there.

She smiled, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. Ryan pulled himself out of the pool, his chest glistening with droplets of water. Eve's eyes were drawn to his muscles, and she felt a flutter in her chest.

"Hey," Ryan said, his voice low and gentle. " What brings you out here Eve?

Eve shrugged, feeling a sense of calmness. "I needed some fresh air," she said, "And comfort."

"What's wrong?" he asked, looking at her face.

Eve shook her head. "Just a lot going on," she said.

Ryan nodded. "Want to talk about it?"

Eve hesitated, then shook her head again.

Ryan put his arm around her shoulders. "It's okay," he said. "I'm here for you always." Eve leaned into him, feeling a sense of comfort. They sat there in silence for a moment,

Then Ryan spoke up. "I really like you, Eve," he said.

Eve looked up at him, her heart beating faster. "I really like you too, Ryan," she replied, trying her best to keep her voice low.

Ryan smiled and leaned in closer. Eve's heart skipped a beat as she realized he was going to kiss her.

And then their lips met in a soft kiss. As they kissed, Eve felt a rush of emotions. She had been drawn to Ryan from the moment she met him, and now, she couldn't deny the connection they shared.

Ryan's lips were soft, and he kissed her with a tenderness that made her feel cherished, she felt so much love in his kiss like never before.

As they broke apart for a moment, Eve smiled up at Ryan. They kissed again, deeper this time, and Eve felt like she was melting into his arms.

As they sat there, wrapped in each other's embrace, Eve knew that she had found someone special.

"Ryan," she said, pulling back to look at him.

"Yeah?" he replied, his eyes locked on hers.

Eve smiled softly at Ryan, her heart full of emotion. "I should go," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Ryan nodded, his eyes understanding. "I'll walk you back," he said. Eve shook her head. "No, I'll be fine," she said with a broad smile.

Ryan stood up, his movements fluid. "I'll be here for you, Eve," he said. "Always."

Eve's heart skipped a beat as she looked up at him. "I love you," she said. "And I'll be here for you too."

Ryan smiled, his eyes shining with love. "Goodnight, Eve," he said.

Eve leaned up and kissed him softly on the lips. "Goodnight, Ryan," she replied. As she turned and walked away, leaving Ryan standing alone.

She made her way back to the bedroom, her heart heavy with emotion, knowing she had to face Charlie once again.

Eve walked into the bedroom, trying to compose herself. Charlie was sitting on the bed, sipping a glass of tequila. He stood up from the bed and looked up at her.

"What were you doing with him," Charlie said, his eyes blazing with anger?

Her heart stopped immediately and then everything went black….
