***Chapter 2***

Me : without lying to you, father, I really don't know where to start.

Him : start at the beginning

Me ( clearing my throat after having organized for a while the ideas in my head ) : well, here it is

.

Rosine is a fighting lady. She goes through thick and thin to give her two children Audray and Delphin a proper education. When her husband died, she decided to go and live in a remote area of the city, not only to ease the pain of having lost her dear husband but also to be able to save money and provide for her two children, because the expenses in the city are proportional to its charm, unlike in the country where everything seems comfortable even for the lower class.

Audray is his oldest child. After his baccalaureate, he returned to live in the city where he obtained his higher technician's certificate and one thing leading to another he was recruited in a large company in the area. As soon as he reached adulthood, he married Aurore, a lady from the northern part of the country. It is a couple to be envied because Audray and his wife got along better than fish and aquarium, only that God did not give them offspring. Not even a single child is seen in the huge yard of their luxurious house. For this simple fact, Rosine did not like her beautiful daughter because she thinks that she had to have abortions at a young age to be sterile. One day, Audray proposed to his wife to go to the orphanage to adopt a child because the medical analysis revealed that Audray suffers from a genetic aberration and that it would be difficult for her to procreate, but she refused this idea of her husband because she would want a child from her blood. She always told her husband to persevere in prayer and that one day God would work a miracle in their lives.

One day while Audray was away at work, someone knocked on the gate which is always locked no matter what time of day because no one would visit them, she thought. Aurore wondered who it could be. She got up from the couch and left the television on to go to the gate which was knocked on for the umpteenth time.

Aurore : yes I'm coming! Who is it?

.

Rosine's voice (grumpy): you're going to open that gate or you want me to break it down!

.

Aurore opened the gate without further delay and met the dark eyes of her mother-in-law, next to whom were Delphin, Audray's younger brother, and a young country girl who was still dragging her teeth around at eleven o'clock in the morning, chewing them in a spectacular manner. Aurore hastened to welcome them and to want to take the luggage but her mother-in-law opposed her hostilely.

Rosine: hey I didn't ask you anything :-/ .

.

Then Rosine directed her gaze towards her son and the young girl and ordered them to carry their luggage to the visitors' room. Aurore had to get out of their way especially, that of her mother-in-law who glared at her before entering the house and heading for the terrace.

Rosine : tsuuuiiip

.

.

Out of respect for her husband, Aurore kept her cool and returned to the living room where she saw the trio already sitting in front of the television. Aurore first went to the kitchen to carry a tray on which she put three glasses and two bottles containing one of water and the other of fruit juice, then she returned to the living room to serve it to them. Only Delphin and the girl took some but old Rosine did not. Rather it was with a face of hatred and disgust that she welcomed her daughter-in-law without even thinking of answering her when she welcomed them.

Rosine : tsuuiiip

Then Rosine asked the girl to go to the kitchen to cook something to eat instead of addressing her daughter-in-law. Aurore, who already knew that her mother-in-law never liked her, did not want to dramatize the situation but deep down she did not admit that another person she had never seen before was entering her kitchen. They were all sitting silently in the living room following a soap opera that Aurore used to follow when suddenly, Rosine took the remote control and zapped the channel under Aurore's questioning look :-o .

At the same time, a smoke coming from the kitchen invaded the living room and Aurore went to the kitchen to surprise the young girl that her beauty took to make a wood fire.

Aurore : no but how can you do such a thing :-/ ?

.

The girl: what :-/ ?

.

Aurore: in the village they taught you to make a wood fire in the middle of the kitchen? If you don't know how to use gas, why don't you ask for some?

.

Without saying anything, the girl reluctantly went back to continue her task, and, overwhelmed by the situation, Aurore held her arm to return her to her.

.

Aurore: I'm talking to you, aren't I?

.

At this question, Aurore received a slap from the girl that she did not see coming so she replied and then the fight started. During this time Delphin was in his room lying down and plugging his ears with headphones. Only the old Rosine heard the waterfalls in the kitchen and she went there at once.

.

Rosine: what is going on here?

.

The girl: uh...she came to attack me because she doesn't want me to use her kitchen.

.

Rosine: her kitchen :-/ ? This is my son's house and this is my son's kitchen so...

.

She hadn't finished what she was saying when Audray honked her horn. Then Aurore went to open the gate, her face already stained with tears. And as soon as Audray got out of the car after having stopped it inside, he asked his wife what was going on. And to this one to make him a summary of the situation.

Audray: my mom came?

.

She: sniff yes

.

Him (holding her): come on honey forget it, you know what? It's old age that puts her in this state. But don't worry. I'll take care of it.

.

They had gone to meet the old woman who gave her version of events. And not to frustrate anyone, Audray invited her mother to the balcony to calm her down too. The evening passed silently like a cemetery. And already in the early morning Rosina knocked on the door of her son and asked to speak to him. He got up and left his wife, and went to sit on the balcony with his mother.

Rosine: so my son what have I done to you that you don't even ask if I'm okay :-/ ?

Him: mom don't get angry, it's the job.

.

She: work? The job doesn't know that you have a family? Or at least a mother?

.

Him: yes, but...

.

She: There is no but. Say rather that it is this thing which hangs out in your house which prevents you from it.

.

Him: what thing :-/ ?

.

She: you ask me :-/ ? I am talking about the one you call your wife.

.

Him: please mom don't start again. Why can't you see her as if she were your own daughter that you didn't have?

.

Her: Really Audray, I don't recognize you anymore. It seems that she has bewitched you.

.

Him: Mom, please.

.

She: to make you even a child is difficult for her. Look at how you have wasted away.

.

Him: mom :-(

.

Her: I will not give up until I see a grandchild.

.

Him: don't worry mom, you will have your grandson

.

Her: when? After my death?

.

Him: hmm

.

She: you have to remarry another woman, otherwise what you have done, so-called marriage...

.

Him: hey mom, you too.

.

She: if your late father had done the same with me, would you be here?

.

Him: okay mom, I get it. I will think about it.

.

She: no, I already found the right one for you.

.

Him: Oh yes :-/ ?

.

She: yes, it's the girl I brought from the village.

.

Him: no mom, you...

.

She: you have no choice. Besides, I'm going back to the village today. And finally, your little brother has to start campus and you have to take him in.

Him: Mom, I don't agree with you making decisions without telling me.

.

She: Did I have your opinion before I gave birth to you?

.

Him: :-(

.

Her: you think I did wrong, don't you? You, my own son, whom I breastfed for two years, you think that today I'm going to hurt you? I see that you are going crazy.

Him: That's not what I said, Mom.

.

She: you want to imply that I am deaf?

.

Him: no, come on, mam.

.

She: Then accept Adjoua as your wife. She will take care of your belly as well as your lower belly so that at the next moon when I come back here I will find you robust and a father of family and not a breeder of women.

Audray didn't try to contradict his mother but he knew that he would never do such a thing. Nor did he try to reconcile her to his wife. And in the evening when Rosine was about to return to the village, Audray gave her a sum of fifty thousand francs for transportation and another fifty for the possible care she claimed. Then he enrolled Delphin in a university where the latter continued his studies. At home, everything seemed to be going well, especially since Rosine had returned home, but the only problem was the antagonism observed between Aurore and Adjoa, her so-called co-wife. A week later, Audray sat Adjoa down and promised to marry her if she would only return to the village to wait for him. She hesitated for a moment before accepting, then Audray gave her money for transportation. That evening, Audray's phone rang and it was her mother on the line.

Him: Hello mom

.

She: What's your problem?

.

Him: what have I done now?

.

Her: Why did you return Adjoa to my house?

.

Him: as I told you, mother, I am not ready to take several women.

.

Her: And that thing you took in, that's a woman too.

.

Him: it doesn't matter what you call her, she is MY WIFE

.

She: one day you will come to cry on my shoulders and tell me that I am right.

.

Him:...

.

She: don't forget that I am your mother, eh Audray. I promised her parents who shower me with gifts every day that I would make her my beautiful daughter. You want to bring shame on me :-/ ?

Him: You're on your own, Mom. All the money I send you every month should be enough to cover your needs. I didn't ask you for anything.

.

Without trying to hear what his mother would say, he hung up on her, but he took care of his younger brother Delphin like the son he never had. This one did not miss anything. Audray even bought him a motorcycle with which he went to the campus at the expense of the bus which is sometimes late in coming while the professor is already in the lecture hall without deigning to wait for the possible late students. One day, Delphin met one of his classmates named Crépine.

Delphin: Hi, beautiful, how are you :-D ?

.

Crépine: tsuiiip

.

Crepine left him and continued his way

.

Him: but wait

.

She: I am in a hurry, young man.

.

Him: so am I. If you want, I'll drop you off.

.

She: no, I don't deal with kids

.

Him: kid :-o ? Me: no.

.

She: yes, first of all, did we know each other?

.

Him: it is precisely because we did not know each other that I wanted us to do it :-) .

.

Her: I don't want to. And if you'll excuse me, I have better things to do.

.

At this very moment, a car came to stop in front of her then she climbed into it and disappeared in front of him. He sighed, promising himself that he would succeed in getting her one day.

The next day, they ran into each other in the canteen.

Delphin: hello :-)

.

She: you again? Don't tell me you are following me.

.

Him: yes, in a way.

.

She (looking at him from head to toe and back again): Can I know what exactly you want from me :-/?

.

Him: Of course I would like to offer you a dish around which I would like to chat a little you and me.

.

She: you are not my kind of guy okay?

.

Him: (grabbing her arm) :-) yes, but I bet that if I start the foreplay, I will gradually become your type.

.

She (violently removing her arm from Delphin's hands): listen, do you know that stalking is punished by law?

.

Him: what does the word harassment have to do with our conversation :-) ? Listen...

.

She: no, you listen to me; the next time I meet you and you continue to bother me, I assure you that you will regret it. Nonsense tsuiiiip

.

She turned on her heels and headed for the park.

The next day, Crépine arrived at the course in a cab at the same time that Delphin got off his motorcycle, hearing insults between Crépine and the driver.

.

Crépine: because you think I come from a rich family?

.

The driver: I don't care. That's what my meter tells me you have to pay. And that's three hundred francs. I don't want any trouble, young lady. Just give me my money back.

.

She: It's two hundred that I usually pay, you won't get more than that. Besides, it's the only money I have on me and you can take it or leave it.

.

Him: You this big? You think like a child.

.

She: What business is it of yours :-/ ? Old fool

.

With these words, the driver left his vehicle and seized Crépine by the arm. This one struggled in vain. She did not manage to free herself from his grip, who wanted to take her by force to the brigade. So Delphin parked his car and paid the driver five cents instead of three.

The driver (smiling): Thank you, young man. At least you are a good person. On the other hand, the girls.

.

Delphin: please.

.

Crepine (to the driver): Hey, you've already taken your money. And now get out.

.

After the driver's departure, Crépine finds it hard to raise her head to meet the gaze of her good samaritan, considering all that she had told him the day before in the canteen. She was saddened because not only had she threatened Delphin, but also because she, who rides in branded vehicles, had not been able to pay three hundred francs for the cab. Delphin did everything he could to make her forget this incident. He even invited her for a drink after school. And one thing led to another and they became very good friends. I will even say more than friends because we can already see them kissing each other in the street. Every day they see each other or at least they call each other or send each other small courtesy messages. At home, the atmosphere is the same. Aurore tries to make sure that Delphin is always comfortable. One day she served a dish of castoulet to her brother-in-law and while he was eating his meal, she started to devour him with her eyes until their eyes met.

Delphin: a problem tanti :-/ ?

She: no nothing :-)

.

She was doing all her tricks to be noticed but this one didn't pay any attention. I don't know if it's because Aurore spends more time at home with Delphin than Audray, who is almost never at home, but she started to desire her brother-in-law madly and by force of things, he ended up falling into her net. It all started one Saturday when Aurore, in the bathroom, started screaming at the top of her voice

.She: help

.

And under the effect of panic, Delphin ran into the bathroom with the intention of helping Aurore and fell on him naked from head to toe.

.

She: sorry, it was a false alarm.

.

Delphin (contemplating her): :-o

.

She: I thought I saw a rat but it was something else.

.

Delphin felt hypnotized by the situation when all of a sudden, she drew him to her and started kissing Delphin who seemed to hesitate but ended up responding to her kiss and they made love that day for the first time starting in the bathroom and ending on the conjugal bed.

Him: Yes, that's right my son, but...

.

Me: But what?

.

Him: How is this your story? Since you don't even show up in it.

.

Me: Why are you in a hurry, Mr. Priest? You told me that you have plenty of time to listen to me, right? Or would you like us to skip the steps?

.

Him: No, not at all, son, it is just a remark.

.
