OLIVIA "Why shouldn't we trust Samantha?" Dillon asks, looking into my eyes. I wrap my arms around his wrists and guide his hands from my cheeks to his sides. I turn, placing my elbows against the balcony rail, and continue to watch the star-studded sky as he watches me. He sighs, "Why can't we trust Sam?" The way he calls her by a hypocorism makes me wonder just how close the two of them are. "You forget the betrayal you've received from the people you've trusted in the past. You are a strong man alpha Barlowe, don't let blind trust be the cause of your demise...a wise man learns from his mistakes and tries to avoid them." Dillon leans against the balcony rail, mimicking my gesture. "Samantha is Michael's mate." I sigh, "I see." "Is that all?" he asks. "What more should I say?"
