Axel’s POV The rain had been pounding for hours, beating against the roof like war drums. I had just gotten back from the hospital with Gwen, my whole head still tumoring around with the trouble she had made. She had refused treatment and I had been forced to stay by her side to keep things from getting out of control. I couldn’t let word spread that someone connected to me was admitted, not when we already had enough gossip about me and my pack floating around. The drive home was miserable.
