CONRADS POV:
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I eyed her pink cheeks and realised she was just as surprised at herself for her actions, as the rest of us were.
I watched her sit down, and tuck her thick brown lock of hair behind her ear and then let my focus fall on to the guy, who was sat back at his table in deep conversation with a woman who looked truly traumatised.
She scratched her head and looked around the room, like an unspoken cry for help.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I laughed inwardly, that was much more of an intelligent choice than just throwing a hit, or lunging for his neck.
After eating a great medium rare steak and downing a few beers, I suggested to the guys that we go bowling.
It was fun and competitive for us, and enjoyable and chilled out enough for the girls.
As we stood, we noticed all eyes on us, especially the girls.
They wore designer clothes, and smelt like designer perfume and both were undeniably good looking, so it was jealousy or lust, maybe a bit of both, but it was visibly making them uncomfortable.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I saw Chase take Cheryl's arm and thought I'd wind Harry up a little, so I approached her.
As I got to her side of the table, she was staring into the distance at her best friends, with a sad look on her face.
She looked as if she'd forgotten something important.
"Is everything okay?" I questioned.
She shook her head but quickly realised who was talking to her before she straightened up and had a smile on her face.
"Yeah I'm okay" she grinned at me.
'Not my business' I told myself, and jokingly slipped my arm through hers, dragging her toward the door.
She giggled and looked up at me with her big, golden eyes glistening.
She, in this moment, was breath taking.
⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I shuddered at the thought as soon as I acknowledged it and put a fake smile on.
"Can't have people here thinking you're leaving alone" I said, smirking at her.
"You just love winding me up" she rolled her eyes and smacked my arm, before she walked over to her SUV to apply more lipstick in the mirror.
The bowling alley was nearby, so we decided to walk.
A few of us where already tipsy so it would make for a fun walk.
"Hey Cory, $50 says I can beat you to the alley" I laughed.
"Ohh you're on" he replied.
"I'll beat you both to it" shouted Hardin and he started running.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀
I felt my feet carrying me, and the cool crisp air hitting my face, I set my pace and ran as quick as I could without using any supernatural abilities.
I was in front but I soon felt a breeze past me and saw Hardin getting in front.
"Told you" he shouted back to me, with a massive grin on his face.
I looked back and Cory was falling behind.
I sped up a little as I saw Hardin getting getting infront but I couldn't keep up, he had to be cheating.
As he turned the corner, I followed behind him but by the time he came into sight he was already leant against the wall of the bowling alley, resting.
"You cheat" I laughed.
"Noww, don't be a sore loser Conrad" he smirked back, so I shoved him gently and leant against the wall myself to recover.
Shortly after Cory bowled around the corner, his pace had slowed down even more.
"You really need to work out more man" I joked, as he approached us.
"I don't, I do it all in the bedroom" he shrugged.
This made both Hardin and I burst out laughing now, I could feel a stitch coming on.
⠀⠀
"I've heard you last as long as a teenage relationship" I nudged him, laughing still.
This caused him to barge me and try to put me in a headlock.
I retracted my arm gently and caught him in the ribs, and we both grabbed each other, bouncing around.
"You're both still like a pair of teenagers" came Cheryl's voice.
They must have caught up.
⠀⠀⠀
I eyed the group, Eli and Lucas were missing.
"Where are the guys?" I questioned, smoothing down my shirt.
"Lucas left his phone, and Eli went back with him incase any of those guys were still lurking" Chase replied.
"Ah okayy" I continued, but he looked like he had more to say.
"You good bro?" I asked.
"Yeah man, can I just talk to you alone for a sec?" He looked at the others, giving them a hint to go in without us.
"Yeah sure" I nodded.
Cheryl turned to look at Chase, who smiled at her.
"I'll be there in a minute babe, promise"
"Okay" she looked at him with suspicion, but the trust between them was immaculate and she followed everyone else inside, Harry on her arm.
⠀⠀
⠀⠀
"So what's up?" I folded my arms across my chest, it was rare for Chase to look worried and pull me for chats, so I knew something wasn't sitting quite right with him.
"The guys have gone back to do a cloaking spell, were compromised" he said, running a hand through his hair.
"How, what happened?"
"Somebody mentioned being questioned, a Vamp" he replied.
"No surprise there" I winked, and he smiled.
This took away some of the seriousness from the conversation.
"Chris is onto us, and because we're following the leads starting nearby then working outwards, he's probably picked up on the route we're going by"
"Ah I see, nothing good about being predictable" I looked into space briefly, thinking about a solution.
"We need to tell the others, but I'm worried that Harry will-" He paused and his face was in shock, like he'd said something he hadn't.
⠀⠀
"She wouldn't want to worry about him turning up" he fixed his words accordingly.
That was nothing I wanted to get involved in.
"None of my business bro, but we need to go and tell everyone so we're all aware"
He nodded in agreement and we went to joint he others.

HARRYS POV: ⠀
The guys walked up to the table, drinks in hand.
As soon as Chase's butt had reached the seat, Cheryl took a seat in his lap and buried her face into his neck.
"Are you okay babe?" She asked.
He leant down and planted a kiss on her head, and the same pain I'd felt before hit me again.
I would never feel that type of love.
I sighed, distracted.
I wish I knew what was up with me, my reproductive organs no longer worked so it wasn't a period due.
"I'm fine" I heard him reply, distracting me.
"But we have to do some things differently, we've been compromised" he said, louder, gaining everyone's attention.
I snapped my head up at him and without thinking blurted out "Christoph?"
⠀⠀
He could only nod in agreement.
"We're going to split up into two teams of 8" Conrad added, relieving me from having to explain the erratic tone in my voice.
"Equal amounts of wolves, vamps and warlocks" he smiled gently.
He was a natural leader, I thought to myself, trying to distract myself from the fear rising in my chest.
He and Chase made a great team.
The more I tried to take my thoughts away from it, the more they ate at me.
My heart was racing, my chest felt tight and suddenly it felt like there wasn't enough air in the room for me to function.
"I just need a minute" I said, stumbling on my words as I got up out of my seat and headed outside.
The cold air felt soothing as I swallowed mouthfuls of it and let it caress my face.
I was feeling calmer now, and I smiled as I felt a familiar presence and a delicatr hand on my shoulder.
"Chase wont let him hurt you" she voiced.
"I'm worried about the situation I've put everybody here in, what if he comes and puts an end to it all? Everyone will be reprimanded"
She pulled me into a hug.
It was the truth, wolves helping vamps, vamps allowing the help and especially Chase going against orders and stealing information.
"We all have our reasons to be here Harry" she soothed, moving hair off my face.
I held her tight and let a single tear escape.
"I just worry about what he'll do, if he manages to catch up to us" I whispered.
"We'll find a way" she replied.
⠀⠀
We carried on hugging until we were disrupted by Eli and Lucas coming around the corner.
"Everything okay?" Eli asked.
"Yeah, we just heard the good news" Cheryl replied.
"Okay so the vehicles are cloaked, and we'll have to go out tomorrow before we set off to buy some sort of jewelery that we can link a spell too, so that even Witches and Warlocks won't be able to track us"
Me and Cheryl nodded.
"Thankyou Eli" I said, wiping the stray tear away.
"Come on, let's go get this over with and have some fun" Cheryl prompted, so I nodded and followed her inside.
⠀⠀
⠀
"You okay?" Asked Chase.
"Yeah, just a lot to take in" I admitted.
He ruffled my hair.
"Well be okay, kid" he smiled, and I punched him in the arm.
"You're 2 years older, gramps" I laughed teasingly and sat down to finish my drink.
We ate, and the burgers from this place were unreal.
During that we decided on who would be paired with for the rest of week, and we'd come back together on the Sunday to debrief.
I would be with Conrad, Hardin, Ben, Luke, Jack, Zia and Lucas while Cheryl would be with Chase, Connor, Cory, Jamie, Paul, John and Eli.
Me and Cheryl weren't happy about being separated but we knew it was for justifiable reasons.
⠀⠀⠀
We decided it would be fun to test our groups, by playing as teams with bowling.
Me and Conrad racked up enough strikes to win with ease and the losing team had to buy everyone's round of drinks.
The games went by pretty quick and before we knew it, it was 11pm.
Time to go back and enjoy a few drinks before bed.
⠀⠀
The walk was refreshing and we all enjoyed each others company, but as we got closer to the hotel my body stiffened and I felt myself moving toward Chase without realising.
I grabbed onto his arm.
The smell was turning my insides into a fire pit and my mouth was as wet as an ocean.
Chase looked down at me with helplessness in his eyes, my impulse control around blood was off mark due to how I'd been turned and left to fend for myself but Chase had to have it as part of his diet.
This meant that he craved it harder than all of us, and I could see he was really struggling right now.
"Chase?" I asked.
His eyes were closed and his head pointed toward me in the opposite direction to the smell.
As we walked closer, with it burning the skin inside my nostrils, the cause came into view.
⠀⠀
An old bald guy was pummelling his fists into the already bloodied face of a similar aged skinny bald guy.
The more the fat guy hit him, the stronger the smell got.
"Chase" I gasped, but he wasn't replying, holding his breath was his only option.
I looked behind me for help, Cheryl was looking terrified at how this was affecting her boyfriend, Connor too and without thinking I pulled Conrad closer.
"I need you to help hold him" I mustered, trying my hardest not to take too much breath in myself.
⠀⠀⠀
"Is everything okay?" He asked, concerned at my expressions aswell as Chases.
"Blood" was all I could muster.
I nodded my head in the direction of the fight.
Conrad all of a sudden had Cory between me and Chase, who's sleeve I still had in my grip and he was walking over to the men.
Next thing we heard was the fat guy being thrown to the ground and mexand Chase were being dragged by Cory toward the cars.
"In my boot" I prompted, the smell was still vigorously strong and Chase hadn't said two words, his eyes were now Amber.
"Bags" "Cooler" I managed.
Cory opened up to bags of Elk and passed them to both of us, getting another two ready.
Chase had sucked his dry and snatched the other before I could even get half way.
⠀⠀
He must have been suffering a fair amount.
Finally I let myself breath.
The smell was still pugnant but the hunger had eased a little bit now.
Chase still looked haunted, so I knelt down to meet his eye.
"You can power through this" I stated.
"I've seen you pull through worse".
He grunted.
I called Cheryl over and took 3 bags from Cory, and urged him to go check on Conrad.
"Cheryl you need to take him up to your room, feed him these and get naked, he needs distractions" I smiled.
She smiled lightly, still looking worried, so I squeezed her shoulder.
"It'll be okay, it's just hard" I noted.
She nodded and took the bags from me, before grabbing Chases hand and leading him toward the building.
I sighed, and slid my back against the cool car, relaxing my muscles from being so knotted up.
Tonight was over, I needed to sleep...
