Bella walked to her foster parent's house while wiping her lips that Louis Corta had kissed. She was very upset that the man was so disrespectful to her.
The luxury car that had driven her to the side of the road had also left; once again, Bella would not want to set foot in Louis' mansion again—never again!
She didn't come home all night, and her stepmother would be furious, especially since she skipped class today.
"I have to go through the back door, and hopefully, they've already left for work," Bella said.
As she opened the door, her stepmother was suddenly in front of her, looking at her probingly.
"Where have you been all night?"
"Sorry, Mom. I had a group project with a friend."
"Which friend?"
Bella just kept quiet because she couldn't answer.
"Go inside and clean the house because we have an important guest coming tomorrow," Mom said as she handed Bella a broom.
"Who's coming?"
"Don't ask too many questions. You'll see who comes tomorrow."
After her stepmother left, Bella put the broom in the kitchen and headed to the bathroom. She looked in the mirror and held her lips that Louis had kissed. s**t! Why did it have to be Louis? He's an older man than Bella and even the same age as her stepfather.
But Bella's mind is suddenly chaotic because Louis is indeed very handsome.
He has an athletic body and looks like he has several tattoos on his hands. Compared to Gabriel, Louis is very far because he has high charisma, and many women idolize him.
And one more thing: Louis's lips are soft and sweet, and it seems he is not a smoker.
After leaving the bathroom, Bella went into her room to change. She accidentally saw a magazine she had bought a few weeks before, and the cover featured Louis's photo.
"Louis is a successful businessman with 27 subsidiaries across Europe," Bella said as she read the magazine's title.
Suddenly, Bella's hand tore off the magazine cover and stuck it on the wall. She took a marker and crossed out Louis' handsome face.
"It's useless to be rich if the son is a playboy and the father is insolent to young girls like me!" Bella said, very upset.
"Bella, what did you say? Hurry up and clean the house!" Mom said outside the room.
"Yes, Mom!"
Bella quickly came out of the room and cleaned the whole house. The house's cleanliness was Bella's responsibility, and Bella even took care of the kitchen needs. She doesn't deserve to be called a child and is more accurately called a maid. She also didn't complain much because they had been paying for her life since childhood.
While cleaning the dining room, Bella overheard her foster parents arguing.
"Is this for the best?" asked Jacob, Bella's stepfather, who had always been kind to her.
"Think of ourselves and this house! Otherwise, we'll lose everything," said Maria as she peeled a banana and popped it into her mouth.
"This is all because I had to take on the debt. I'm a stupid husband."
"You were stupid, and now look at what happened. It's the only way we won't lose our house and our jobs," said Maria, throwing the banana peel so that it fell in front of Bella.
Jacob turned to Bella. He smiled sweetly, and Bella was still curious about their conversation earlier.
"What are you talking about? Who do you owe?" Bella asked curiously.
"We..."
"Jacob, let her know tomorrow."
"We have to talk now so Bella won't be surprised tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? What's wrong with tomorrow? Why should I be surprised tomorrow?" asked Bella as she put down the broom she had been holding.
Jacob's face looked confused while Maria forbade him from telling the truth.
"It's okay, Bella. Please clean the house! Tomorrow, you also don't need to go to college first," said Jacob, who didn't want his daughter to be sad.
"It's fine if you don't want to tell me."
Bella immediately finished her work while her foster parents were still talking. At least now, Bella's mind could be distracted from the pain of Gabriel's betrayal.
However, she was reminded of Louis' kiss. Damn! She still remembers the feeling when Louis kissed her gently and cleaned the remnants of steak seasoning on the edge of her lips.
Oh my God! What the hell is going on? How could Bella forget that embarrassing incident?
A few hours later, Bella had cleaned the house from the porch to the kitchen. A friend came to her house and asked why Bella didn't go to campus today.
"Oh, sorry, I must clean the house today, so I can't attend college. Oh yeah, what's the news today on campus?" Bella said, looking at her neighbor.
"You don't know? That boyfriend of yours announced that he's getting married mid-semester. Congratulations, Bella! I'm sure Gabriel is serious about you."
"Unfortunately, it wasn't me. It turns out I'm just the same mistress. It's astonishing, isn't it?" Bella looks sad again when talking about Gabriel.
"Oh God, I'm sorry, I didn't know. So Gabriel is going to marry someone else?"
Bella nodded her head.
"No wonder you didn't go to class today. You must be avoiding Gabriel, but doesn't avoiding make you look defeated?"
"I'm already defeated. Hmm... now I don't want to discuss Gabriel anymore. By the way, do you know Louis Costa?"
"Louis Costa? That famous billionaire? Why are you asking about him?"
"He's Gabriel Costa's father. Gabriel has been hiding the fact that Louis Costa is his father."
"Haha... interesting. This will be the new gossip on campus. I'll be going home then. Bye, Bella!"
Bella smiled and entered the house. She passed by her parents, who were still chatting seriously, and entered the room. Bella remembered that Louis had said something at the mansion that scared her.
"We will meet every day, and we can also kiss every day," Louis said, which made Bella confused and curious about the man's words.
