I just got you

Opening my eyes I’m quickly reminded of what happened when I see Mason on top of me still hugging me. I’m mortified with myself, I begin to cry when I see Penny and Nikki are getting up and putting the furniture back in place. I’m a blubbering mess.

“Mason…”

He loosens his grip a little, looking at me in the eyes as if searching for something. He releases me to sit up and pulls me up into his arms.

Penny kneels down beside us looking at Mason and I with a sad face.

“I’m sorry Penny.” Still crying.

“It’s ok kid… I just need to step out for a little bit and I’ll be right back so we can have a chat ok?” I nod in reply and she leaves the room.

Mason still holding me and rubbing my in circular motions calming me down.

“Kali are you ok?” nodding my head to his question.

“Ummm anyone going to ask if I’m ok?” standing with his arms crossed and glaring at us.

“Nikki. I’m so sorry. I was out of line.” I look down ashamed of my actions.

“Well you owe me a Trixie shirt.” Turning to show me the side of his torn shirt.

“I’m so sorry.” I say with a frown on my face.

“I’m going to change my shirt and when I get back you need to explain what on earth is going on with you.”

Nikki leaves the room, leaving Mason and I alone, still on the floor in the middle of the room. Still in his warms muscular arms. I feel safe here and here in his arms I won’t be able to hurt anyone.

Thinking about everything that has happened since I woke up I remember the kiss and instantly feel embarrassed and remembering the look of discomfort he had on his face.

Giving him a reassuring touch that I’m feeling better I rise from our seated position and walk to the sliding door, not stepping out onto the balcony, just looking at the lake where I kissed Mason without thinking.

“Mason… sorry for kissing you earlier… I don’t know what came over me… I…”

Mason turns me to face him, putting his index finger and thumb on my chin making me look up at him. I have just noticed how tall he is, he is taller than Nikki.

Looking up at him and looking into those beautiful blue eyes. We lock eyes before his eyes goes down to my lips, then softly, slowly and sensually his thumb trails over my lips making me take in a breath. His thumb returns to my chin, he leans in and gives me a soft quick kiss on the lips as if teasing me, I frown at the loss of contact between our lips making him smirk like he just discovered something. His thumb runs along my jawline leaving little sparks to the end making me lean into his touch. His hand softly cupping the back of my neck with his thumb rubbing the side of my neck leaving little sparks of chill making me shiver a little I close my eyes. I can feel my heartbeat speeding up, I’m taking longer breaths in and out unsure if I should breathe or not.

I feel his lips, soft and warm. He presses his lips softly on mine making me melt a little into his lips. His thumb still rubbing the side of my neck, it’s making me lose the rhythm of my breathing I end up slightly parting my lips to take in some air.

On the second inhale his kiss deepens, a low moan escapes my mouth, I’m shocked at myself my breath hitches. I can feel his smile against my lips, obviously smiling at the little noise I just made. I feel his tongue gently enter my mouth come in and out as if searching for something.

I put my arms around his neck to bring him closer to me, deepening the kiss making him groan. His tongue enters again and is met with my tongue, softly and sensually playing with each other.

His thumb has stopped rubbing my neck and his hand doesn’t move and stays planted there. I feel his other hand on my hip and his thumb now rubbing the skin above the waistline of my pants, waiting for my permission. I respond by slowly running my hand running my hand down from his neck to chest feeling his chest muscle twitch beneath my touch making him groan again.

Satisfied with his groan I pull back a little smiling. My breath hitches again when his hand moves from my hip and makes it’s way under my shirt and slowly up my back and pushing me closer to his body and back into his kiss, making me moan in satisfaction again.

Enjoying this moment of contact between our bodies and our tongues playing and teasing each other.

“Oops sorry…”

Instantly our kisses stop at the sound of Nikki’s voice. Embarrassed that we have been caught in the act I hide my red face in Mason’s chest. Mason let’s out a huff showing his annoyance with Nikki, it makes me chuckle bringing my face out of hiding to look at Mason.

Mason’s hands still frozen in it’s spots and not letting me go. Looking up into his eyes, I cup his cheek and give him a peck on his lips before I take a step back putting some space between us.

“Gosh I said I’m sorry.” He rolls his eyes “I’ll come back later.” About to turn around and leave again before I stop him, still feeling bad for what I did to him.

“No, no, come we all need to talk anyways about what is going on with me.”

I move away from Mason and walk towards Nikki giving him a sad look and grabbing his hand and squeezing it showing him I feel bad for what I did, he just waves it off showing that it’s already forgotten. Now smiling I give him a hug before jumping on the bed with him following and jumping next to me.

“O.M.G girl! I’m so happy you’re back! You still owe me a movie night!” we both giggle and stop when Mason exhales a loud breath and glares at Nik.

“Oh gosh just sit your ass down already.” Nik rolls his eyes at Mason.

I give Mason an empathetic look making him come and join us. I know how he feels, I could feel it when he didn’t want to let go, I felt the same way but I couldn’t ignore Nikki after what I did. Mason pulls the bench away from the bed giving space for his legs so he can sit and face us.

“So how long was I asleep?”

“Seven days and twenty two hours.” Mason answers looking at his hands then at me. Surprising me that he counted every moment I was asleep making me swoon over him a little bit.

“Oh! That long? I thought it was like two or three days tops!”

“No it is as what Mason said.” Penny says as she enters the room.

Happy to see her back I give her a smile and I watch her take a seat next to Mason. A little bit jealous when I see her leg make contact with his making me look down quickly at my hands.

“Girl you need to tell us. So you know what happened to you or should I say what is happening to you?”

“You remember the voice I told I heard?” looking at Nik, he nods “I met her when I fell into a deep sleep.”

“Girl are you saying you have a wolf? Cause what you just said is almost like how we meet our other half, our wolf that speaks to us.”

“Yes and no. Yes there is a voice that speaks to me and no it’s not a wolf.” They are all looking at me confused.

“Ok your story telling is leaving me confused girl.” Mason does a low growl at Nik making him roll his eyes and look at me again. “Just start from the beginning girl.”

Explaining to them the first time I heard the voice, the two visions I had and the first time I met Selene and the place where she lived.

“Do you know who this Selene is?” Penny asks.

“No she never explained who she was, just told me her name was Selene but I didn’t find out her name till our second meeting, as I said our first meeting was very brief. Why, am I missing something?”

“Sorry don’t mind me keep going, tell us about your second encounter with her.”

“Well the second time I went back she looked sad to see me there at first but quickly realized I was in a deep sleep. It felt like I was there for almost three days.”

Thinking about what Selene had me doing during my time with her.

“We spent the days with me meditating, learning how to focus on calming the emotional and mental part of me. But as soon as I got back it wasn’t as easy as I thought.”

I pause just thinking about the time I spent with Selene.

“Most of my time there was spent on meditating and the rest of the other time was asking her questions that she would either answer me with a short brief answer or it would be cryptic that would just leave me with more questions. When I did press her a little more she would just say she couldn’t give me much, say too much and it could alter the path, what this path is I don’t know. I guess when my questions were too much her horses would come by me and always distracted me. She had two white gorgeous horses.”

Nikki pushes himself off his belly and on to his knees grabbing my hand looking shocked.

“Penny is right, you were with the moon goddess ‘Selene’. Oh my gosh you’re blessed by the moon goddess herself. But why did she have you meditating so much?”

“I’m going through changes. There’s a strong power within me and if I can’t control it, it will consume me. There have been others before me but none lived a day past twenty one.”

Mason looks at me with fear in his eyes.

“You turn twenty one next weekend.” He says with a low sad voice.

The room is silent. I don’t ask how he knew my birth date cause the sadness in his voice pulls at my heart strings. I had to break eye contact with him or I was going to break down into tears. I get a glimpse of Penny’s face before looking at the TV she looks torn and sad. Mason stands up and sits on the bed facing me, bringing my face back to look at him. His voice so soft yet determined.

“how can I help you to make sure you live past twenty one? Cause I’m not letting you go that easily. I just got you.”

“Its going to be hard, the others had years of training and still didn’t make it. I have only over a week to strengthen myself physically and mentally.” A tear escapes my eye, Mason catches it with his thumb and wipes it away.

My heart breaks a little more. I want to stay and live past twenty one but my chance of living is slim. I just failed not so long ago and gave into the anger.

“Kid. I can see you thinking and doubting yourself already. We are here to help.” She smiles at me.

“Yeah what she said, I ain’t letting my girl go down without a fight!” Nikki smiles and gives me a wink.

Another tear drops at their words, their confidence and encouragement helping me already to change my mindset. I need to fight to stay here with them and for them. Looking back at Mason.

“Like I said, I’m not letting you go that easily… I just got you.”
