**Vivian’s POV** The glow from my laptop was the only thing breaking up the darkness. My heart hammered against my ribs, a hummingbird trapped in a cage. The call with the lawyer's office was still fresh in my mind. I had set things in motion. Now I just had to wait for the fallout. I kept refreshing the inbox on the secure email account Kael had made for me. I told myself I was checking for a message from Silvia Grant’s office, but I knew I was waiting for Julian. He never waited. He always reacted, and quickly. Then, something. An email from E. Sterling: I’m not angry. I’m worried. The breath rushed out of me. My hands, on the desk, began to shake. Years of being with him meant seeing his name made my body freak out. My stomach turned, remembering the feeling of his disappointment.
