Chapter 9

562 Words
School is finally over, and I head home. It’s not close to 4 yet, so it’s fine. “Hey Harlem! Girl, I can’t believe that my first, first day of school was without my parents being pissed and following me arguing all the way to this and waited till the bus got here.” Oh...that’s not okay. Not one bit. “Oh, well that’s over with. I just need to head home as soon as possible, so I can get ready to hang out around the neighborhood.” Her face started to light up, no. “Oooh, with who? T?” If I say yes, she is going to ask to hang out with us and try to make a move, If I say no, she is going to ask to hang out with me and without me knowing invite Raheem. “Some girl for a project, I gotta meet her soon.” Yes, her hope is gone. “So, what was you talking to Tareq about, you was being all smiley like ew b***h. Was you being thirsty or something?” And now this b***h talking to me like I’m these other bitches that want her dirty ass boyfriend Raheem. “What’s the problem like?” She ignores me and gets on the bus and before I can get on my name is called. “Lil’ Lamb! Get in bruh!” T has a car? When? “Girl get in, I’ll answer all questions at the shop.” I hop in his nice black Mercedes. This looks like his cousin’s old car, but it’s so nice and clean. “Is this Malik’s car?” Malik is his cousin. The one that got him caught up with his parents this summer. “Yeah, he gifted it to me after winning my first basketball game. It was this summer, I couldn’t invite any of my friends because I was still in trouble, sorry you couldn’t watch me Lil’ Lamb.” I love how much he cares and can just be so truthful to me. “Anyways, why you said the ghetto ass doughnut shop? We can go to the mall if you free all day. My cousin canceled on me so, I came and got you.” I would LOVE to hang out with him all day, but a b***h can never sound so clingy. “That’s fine T, just really need to catch up with you. Even outside of school.” The ride was gentle and fun. Tareq is amazing to always hang around and this is one of the reasons why I love him. We’re here now. “Don’t open the door. Wait.” Is he? He opens the door for me. This is new. “When we started doing this T?” My face is hot again. “I’m just a nice person LL.” He has never done this ever before. We walk inside and check out the stores, I couldn’t get my wallet, so I didn’t buy anything for myself while T was looking at shoes. “Oh, Lamb. They got that store that got torn down in here. You wanna go?” “YES!” This is the only time I will ever show my true feelings like this because I could never get into that store because of my age. Pretty sure I can go now.
