I could see the conflict on Alex's face as he thought about my question. It seemed he wasn't convinced himself either, but I knew how stubborn Alex was so I wouldn't be surprised to oppose this plan.
"Of course I will protect this Pack." Alex put down the paper he was holding. All his attention was fully focused on me. "But that doesn't mean I'll just let you go, Cara. Either way, I'll find a way so you can stay here."
