I turned to Alex who was looking at me with an angry smile behind me. His golden brown eyes flashed as he stared at my expression.
"Even to the ends of the world I will always find you, Caroline." He held out his hand to me.
For a moment my breath caught in my lungs. Alex wore a black suit with a white shirt. The top two buttons of his shirt were open. His hair was unusually neatly combed ... and he looked so handsome that it made me freeze in place.
