Chapter 1

941 Words
Myra's POV, "Wake up, you sleepyhead, it's our graduation day," someone yelled from the kitchen. Yeah, that someone happens to be my guardian angel, 'Heer.' You see, I was still in slumber mode, and we're running late. Our graduation ceremony starts in half an hour, and here I am, snoozing like a panda. But who cares? We're proud backbenchers, bro. "Hum aise hi karte hain." Oh, by the way, let me introduce myself. So, basically, technically, and logically, I'm Myra Rajput, I'm 22 year old, having just completed college. From now on, it's time to hustle for some serious cash. You might wonder about my family. Why stress about money? Well, not everyone has a 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' kind of family. Mine's more of a 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun' type, if I even consider them family. Eww, why am I even thinking about them this early in the morning? Shoo, shoo. My inner child tends to resurface every morning to brighten my mood. Now, I need to get ready, so stop distracting me, okay? After a refreshing shower, I emerged from the bathroom in search of my lavender kurti and white pants, my signature simple and goofy look. I'm as innocent as they come (the word "innocent" is currently cursing me, I swear). I don't fancy makeup, not even lipstick, and I'm definitely a genuine girl. So, no need to question my "sexuality" or "kinks" – as I mentioned, I'm very innocent, hehehe. After getting dressed, I headed out of my room to find 'Heer' standing there, looking stunning in skinny jeans and a black blouse. "Shall we go, or will we be fashionably late, madame?" I teased. "Miss Panda, we're already five minutes late, thanks to you. Here, eat this sandwich I made for you," she said, casting a playful glare with her gorgeous brown/black eyes. "Aww, you know I love you a lot. If I were a guy, I'd kiss you right now," I playfully replied. "You can still kiss me, but on the cheek, Jaana. I know just how innocent you are," Heer responded. And that's us, playfully flirting with each other. Don't get the wrong idea; we're both very much into guys. We're just deeply single, so we flirt whenever we get the chance. But seriously, gullies, we're running out of time. We hopped onto her scooty, and she started the engine while I munched on the sandwich she had prepared. We were on our way to "IIM College of Indore." Yes, we currently live in Indore for our studies. As I finished my sandwich, I started reminiscing with Heer about our college days and more. Upon reaching the college, we entered the grand auditorium where the graduation ceremony was taking place. After a while, a professor instructed all students to take their seats. The graduation ceremony began, with the dean calling students' names from the stage, where the chief guest was seated. As time passed, it was finally my turn to go up there and collect my degree. The chief guest shook my hand and congratulated me. As the ceremony concluded, Heer and I exited the auditorium, where our classmates and fellow graduates were busy taking photos. Of course, we joined in the photo frenzy and bid farewell to our friends. Finally, back at our rented house, I changed into comfy clothes and headed to the kitchen to prepare something to eat – Maggie and Chai. Heer loves her Chai, but I'm not a fan. I know, I know, some of you may be cursing me right now, but hey, "who cares," right? As night fell, we sat in her bedroom. She was busy packing her stuff since she had to head home for personal reasons. I, on the other hand, was not very helpful. Afterward, I returned to my room, laid my head on my soft pillow, and drifted off to sleep. But before I go, "Good night, gullies." The next morning, I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window. It was a bright and sunny day, a perfect start to this new phase of life. With graduation behind me, I knew that adulthood was beckoning, and I needed to face it head-on. I stretched and yawned, pushing aside thoughts of responsibility and adulthood for a moment. My room felt oddly empty without Heer's presence. She had left for her home, and her absence left a void in our little rented space. We had been through so much together, and her support had been unwavering. After dragging myself out of bed, I decided to make a hearty breakfast. It was my way of coping with Heer's absence. As I cooked, I couldn't help but reflect on our college days. The late-night study sessions, the laughter, the tears, and the countless memories we had created together. While savoring my breakfast, I received a text from Heer. She had reached home safely and was already missing our banter. We promised to stay in touch and meet up whenever we could. Her message brought a smile to my face, reminding me that even though we were physically apart, our friendship remained strong. With breakfast finished, I realized it was time to start planning my future. I had completed my degree, and the real world awaited. The thought of job interviews and adult responsibilities made me slightly anxious, but I knew I had to face them. I spent the day researching job opportunities in my field, updating my resume, and reaching out to professors for advice. It was a productive day, and by evening, I felt a bit more confident about the road ahead.
