Chapter 5 - Fight Club

974 Words
I looked around me at all the supernatural creatures there were vampires, demons and some I didn't recognize. It's a good thing I wasn't self-conscious because everyone was staring at me like I didn't belong, I mean I was a blonde petite female girl what the f**k kind of harm could I really do right? They would all soon find out what I was capable of. I had the strength of several vampires combined and was stronger than a slayer from what I figured, and from months of fighting at these fight clubs my fighting skills had improved drastically. What better way to learn to fight right? You either fight or possible die in these matches but I wasn't worried about death at this point if it happened, I would welcome the peace and quiet and this point. But tonight, I had no intention of dying in the ring but every intention of kicking my opponent's ass. When I came back to my apartment, I was bruised all over and I'm pretty sure I had broken my ribs. I had fought a creature I came to find out later was a djinn which looked more or less like a man with tribal tattoos covering just about every inch of his body, had completely blacked out eyes and was incredible muscular and strong. In the end I won the fight, but he gave me a run for my money and I was hurting something fierce. Although my wounds would heal within a few hours they were bugging me pretty bad right now. As I was lying on my bed aching all over holding the little bit of money I had won I contemplated whether or not maybe I should just break down and get a real job like a normal person to pay the bills. While I am getting better at fighting was it really worth being beat up and having broken ribs at the end of the night? That left another problem I had no birth certificate, no form of ID and no social security card to get a job, I would need fakes if I were going to do that. These were all things that would have to wait until tomorrow because as of right I needed sleep my body ached for it. First thing in the morning I contacted the witch Agatha I had put a cloaking spell on me and asked for her if she had any contacts in the human world that dealt with fake ID's, birth certificates and socials. Of course, Agatha having resources everywhere gave me a number and address and sent me on my way. I was walking up to a warehouse now that was the address Agatha gave me. It was creepy it looked abandoned, and my senses were on full alert. I went through the only door I could find and entered the abandoned looking warehouse and found all kinds of printing machines and other machines possibly for making counterfeit money, but I wasn't positive. "Hello, is anyone there?" I yelled. "Agatha sent me, said this was the place to get papers." "Yes, it is but what kind of papers are you looking for?" asked a baled middle-aged man behind me suddenly. "I need a social, birth certificate and ID." I said playing it off as though I wasn't startled by the fact, he somehow ended up behind me. "Ahh the basics, and what name will you be using?" He asked. "What." I said not expecting the question "Well you'll need a name on the documents obviously so what name are you using?" he said a little annoyed. "Oh right, Natasha Campbell." I blurted out without thinking. "Ok give me a few minutes and don't touch anything." He said. I was a little offended by the remark about not touching anything but brushed it off as he seemed to be a aggravated middle-aged man and decided not to dwell on it. He came back five minutes later with all my documents. "How much do I owe you?" I asked. "Five hundred dollars." He said bluntly. Now I really would need that job because that was all the money i had won the last few days and all the money I had. Ok here you go, here are all your documents." He said as he handed me the paperwork. "Thank you." I responded as I took the paperwork. As I was leaving the warehouse I pondered over what kind of job I should get, I don't even have the slightest idea of what I would be good at. I'm 18 now and I have never had a job before I'm not sure even where to start but If I had to guess it would be at the diner across the street from my apartment they are apparently hiring. I headed to the diner after leaving the warehouse to see about submitting an application. "Hi, your sign says your hiring, and I was wondering if I could submit an application." I asked an older waitress with red hair. "You got reliable transportation Hun?" asked the lady in a southern accent. "Well, I live right across the street, so it won't be a problem." I said. "Well Hun, here's the deal we don't exactly get a lot of applicants here, so if you can show up on time, as the head waitress here I'm saying your hired. Also, since you will be working here now my name is Dona." She said. "What size do you need for a uniform Hun?" Dona asked. "Oh um, a small please. "I said. "Ok here you go Hun." Dona said as she handed me the waitress uniform. "Thank you, what time do I start then?" I asked. "Six am sharp tomorrow." Dona stated firmly. "You got it I'll be there." I said.
