Their agreement about the hospital trip seemed clear-cut. But right after his morning call with Tomi, Eeli started worrying he had missed something with Leo, or maybe he had misunderstood. Tomi had implied there were now a new confusing set of rules, just waiting for Eeli to break them and upset everyone. There might have been an undertone in Leo’s voice Eeli should have noticed. Then again, Leo wasn’t Moona. He never acted as if it were a personal insult if Eeli couldn’t guess his state of mind. If Leo had really wanted Eeli to accompany him to the hospital, he would have said so, Eeli deduced. It was like with jogging. Eeli would do that for Leo, cause Leo was always reasonable in his request; they happen only once or twice and had a beginning, middle, and an end. Easy to deal with that
