Ella didn’t know when she lost control.
One moment, she was telling herself to resist. To fight the pull.
The next, she was in Liam’s car, the city lights blurring as he drove, his grip tight on the wheel.
Silence stretched between them, thick and charged.
Her body still burned from where he had touched her. From the way his voice had wrapped around her like silk.
She should stop this. She should ask where they were going.
But she didn’t.
Because deep down, she already knew.
Liam wasn’t taking her home.
He was taking her to him.
The car came to a slow halt in front of a sleek high-rise, the kind that whispered of power and exclusivity.
Ella swallowed hard.
Liam didn’t say a word as he stepped out, walking around to her side. He opened the door, his hand outstretched.

Then, she placed her palm against his.
His fingers curled around hers, firm and certain, as he pulled her to her feet.

The soft chime of the elevator echoed as the doors slid open to reveal a penthouse draped in warm golden light. Floor-to-ceiling windows framed the city skyline, but Ella barely noticed.
