It'll leave you breathless' Or with a nasty scar' ♜ ♝ ♞ R O G E R S There was something about the crime scene, something special and stood out than the other ones Rogers have seen. He felt like looking at a canvas, that was painted and decorated in red and corpse like it was a kind of art, every stain had its meaning, every posture had its feeling. It stuck in everybody's mind who've seen it, and probably would stay there for weeks. As they headed back Helen Cho's death affected everyone, especially agent Barnes who had no idea why he woke up there. The situation was so bad, Nick Fury had to come down to take care of it all himself. Steve watched Helen's body being taken to the forensic lab when Fury placed his hand on his shoulder. "You're alright, Detective?" "Oh... Hello, Director. I'm fine, but I don't think agent Barnes is." He glanced at Bucky who was sitting alone, with his hands on both his temples. Then some of the FBI's men approached him, Steve's eyebrows twisted in a sharp move as he was about to dash in to keep them away from Barnes but Fury stopped him. "No way. You do not interrogate him. He was just traumatized." Steve said. "We need to." Fury replied firmly. "As a witness." Peter Parker walked in with the rest of the team, he exchanged a short glance with the Director of FBI and they all headed along to the interrogation room. Bucky Barnes was in another side of that one-way mirror. An agent from another department was the interrogator, she walked in and sat on the opposite seat as him calmly. "Hello, agent Barnes." She said. "I'm Agent Claire Miller." "..." Bucky just looked at her. The room was as silent as the dead. "When exactly did you leave Detective Steve Roger's house yesterday?" "... I don't know." "You don't know?" "I don't remember." Fury turned his face to Rogers. "Do you remember?" "Not for sure. Somewhere after nine, I guess, I fell asleep, he left on his own." He replied. 10:47. Peter knew the answer to that. Yet he said nothing. "Agent." Claire continued. "Where were you headed to?" "Some bar, I wanted to get drunk." "And did you arrive?" "I... did actually." "What was the last thing you remember?" His head hurts, his veins burned of chemicals that made his skin itching. "I got off the car and looked at the neon sign of ButterflyRains." "Go on." She said. "Then, it was black... it was nothing. I woke up in the dark, the smell of dust and iron touched my nose, first." "..." Bucky closed his eyes tight, recalling back in time. "I crawled my way and I got wet, I soon realized the iron sense was of blood. "Is that the crime scene you are describing?" "Yes. I lifted the gate open and saw her, then I hurried up to come here. That's it. That's all that I remember." "Has anyone seen you on the way to the bar?" "No. I drove my car there... where is my car?" He asked. "It is still at Detective Roger's house, agent." "That's not possible, I parked it at the bar, that's when it was black." "Thank you for your cooperation," Claire said and she walked out of the room. ♛ ♜ ♝ P A R K E R All I had to do was put the needle in his throat, took him to the garage and wait for him to wake up with confusion, then watched everyone freaked out over it. Don't be so worried, this is not even the climax, the result is yet to come. Barnes has been sitting at the corner of the room for a while now, trying to recall the lost parts of his memory. Rogers went up to check on him but he preferred to be alone. Nick called us all to the middle of the lab, everyone was scared because Helen Cho, one of their members was dead because of me, my first puzzle. "We have a lot to discuss, a lot to change after this has happened. First of all, agent James Buchanan Barnes will be removed from the Spider and the Bird's case---" He said but Barnes stood up and yelled. "Hold on a second, sir! You can't do that!" "I can and I will agent Barnes." Fury replied with a serious glare. "You have become a witness for the case and is not allowed to join this investigation any longer." "I made the best progress out of everyone!" "That's not the point. You were abducted by the killer, you could have died. You will also need to meet the psychiatrist that we arrange for you to help you through traumatic situations." "I don't need a god damn psychiatrist!--" "You will have your god damn psychiatrist and your god damn guards from us to watch over you twenty-four seven in case the killer will attack again, now, go." Fury said the words and the room fell in a hush, Bucky Barnes had no choice but to do as he was told to. He walked out and everyone was still quiet, so Nick Fury spoke up. "Without him as the leader of the department, I've asked from help, everyone please welcome Doctor Stephen Strange, neuropsychiatrist specializing in profiling psychopaths." Oh... another person to join the game? He walked in the room with his suit and tie so neat, his hair on both of his temples was white, his eyes were grey and they stared at each and every one of us and stopped at me. Now... this was on some new levels, he wasn't one with good instincts like Rogers, Strange was taught to pick out a person like me from the crowd, he learned exactly how to see through me. This will be challenging. "Doctor Strange will be assisting you with the cases until all of them are solved. Everyone in this team except for Detective Rogers and Peter Parker who are not registered will have at least one bodyguard being with you to prevent you from the killer, am I being clear?" Fury asked. Everyone nodded tiredly, some felt safer having them around, some felt annoyed of this whole thing. Nick Fury said something to the Doctor and walked out. Strange put his stuff in his office that was once Barnes's and then he approached me and Detective Rogers. "Nice to meet you." He said, we shook our hands, he didn't seem to sense a bad tension from me when our skins touched, maybe he's not that good. "I'm Steve Rogers and this is Peter Parker." The detective said for us. "Fury said the two of you were not registered, are you not with the FBI?" He asked. "Ugh, technically we are just consultants, I solved the Hydra's case, he's studying Forensic psychology, Barnes recruited us." "I see. So I can call you my team then?" "Yes." I said with a smile. Keep your friends close, keep your enemy closer. "Good, that's exactly what we need to do. I want all the files and information from what you've gathered on my desk." He said, and Detective Rogers already had an annoyed look on his face so I interrupted. "I'll handle that." I said, putting myself in between them. Rogers headed back to his office as I carried all the flies that were once Barnes's in for Doctor Strange, I pushed the door open up using my back and placed piles of paper on his table. "Is there anything else you'd want?" I asked. "Yes. Parker, can you sit, please?" He said. Something was a little off, something was a little out of my control, yet I maintained myself to act normal, or at least what I thought normal would be. "Ugh... I could get you a cup of coffee if you'd like." I asked. "I know what you are." "..." I stared at him still, a face of innocence that I put on slowly unmasked itself. "I knew it since I first saw you. It's actually really impressive seeing you amongst these people." He put his notebook aside. "Why didn't you tell them?" I asked, my face was as stern as his, there was no need to pretend. Can he really tell from a glance I am the Spider or was he keeping an eye on me all this time? Am I really out of my cover? Is this the end of the game...? I haven't had any fun yet. "I figured you wouldn't want to be judged..." He said. "Judged?" I'd be sent to jail, asylum or executed not judge, what is he talking about? "You know, it's amazingly smart to use a psychopath to hunt another psychopath, Barnes failed the mission but he did one thing right." He smiled. Oh. He doesn't know I'm the Spider, he just knows I'm a psychopath. A smile returned to my lips. "He did." I said. "How do you control your thirst for killing? Haven't seen your kind blending in this well with us for a while, you are very young, too." He asked simply. "I go hunting once in a while, and I kill people in... video games." I chuckled. He smiled back. "It's alright Peter, I've known many like you, if one day it feels overwhelming you can ask for advice. Until then you don't have to pretend and be who you are not around me." "Thank you very much." "You're welcome. Now, let's hunt this one down together." I looked back at him with a satisfied glare, this one I'm keeping closest to myself. ___________
