“Have you lost your mind?” Tania scoffed.
“No,” I retorted. “We need whoever sent that message to come back to town so that Chief Hayes can arrest him. Sending him a text could do just that.” I could call the number too. I’d heard both men’s voices, but I didn’t want to give away it was me on the other end.
“I’m inclined to agree with Tania,” Maggie said when I turned to look at her for support. “It’s pretty clear she told whoever was sending those messages to leave her alone. She hasn’t responded since. If all of a sudden she was to send a text, it would be suspicious.”
