The Maid and the Millionaire

Prologue

"RUNAWAY from here, Belle. Run as fast as you can and never return!" the 9-year-old Belle's maid said in a frantic and scared voice. The maid was pulling Belle outside the back door of their huge vacation house in Laguna.

"Nana Lorna, why are your shoulder's bleeding?" Belle asked worriedly in an innocent voice.

"I'm okay, Belle, just go. You need to get away from here. And don't come back or the bad men will find you." Nana Lorna said in a frantic voice as she urged Belle to run away from the house.

Belle couldn't help but cry when it finally dawned on her that she's in danger and that she'll be running away from home alone, and all the people who care and lover her will be left behind.

"Nana Lorna, I don't want to leave you. The bad men will hurt you like the way they hurt my dad and the others.” Belle said in a crying voice.

A gang of thieves targeted their vacation house that night. Since it was a vacation house, surrounded with greenery, their neighbors was very far away from where they are.

At first, Belle's father told the thieves that they could get any furniture, jewelries and money that they wanted, as long as they would not harm any of them.

But when one of the thieves decided to take Belle as a hostage, that was when Belle's father decided to fight the thieves so she could escape. While Belle's father, together with the other men whose working at their household, started fighting the thieves, Nana Lorna was helping Belle to escape from the backyard.

While the other maids were scared, screaming and crying. Frantically trying to hide or escape from the gang of thieves. And before Nana Lorna and Belle could make it our of the backyard, they heard the sound of a gun. There were another bout of screaming and shouting, and then, silence.

That's why Nana Lorna was aking Belle to run and escape. She was afraid of what happened inside the house, and what would happen if Belle didn't manage to escape the bad men.

Nana Lorna cried as she urged Belle to her freedom. She knew that it might be the last time that she'll see Belle. She was also scared of what might become of Belle after she escape. But staying was also not an option. She prayed that Belle will find someone to help her and that she'll be out of harm's way.

"Go, Belle, save yourself. I'll try to hold the bad men back for as long as I can." Nana Lorna said while crying. "Don't come back, unless the police or your mom arrived. I know that they're definitely on their way after I called her, as your father told me. Be safe, princess. Now go!" she hurriedly said to Belle when they heard a loud footsteps coming from the house.

Scared, crying and Belle has no idea where she would go, she started running away from the house like Nana Lorna told her.

She was not yet very far from the vacation house when Belle heard Nana Lorna's scream. By the way she screamed, it seemed like she was being hurt by the bad men.

Belle sped up running, while tears was falling from her eyes.

She was running for about 20 minutes and she finally made it into the maid road, while she's still crying continuously, that was why Belle never noticed the car that was driving a bit faster that the normal speed limit. Before she knew it, Belle was flying in the air when the side of the car bumped into her, and she ended up lying in the gutter, her head bumped at the cement.

She lost consciousness.

BELLE woke up in the hospital. She couldn't remember anything. All she knew was her name because it was engraved on her bracelet, that's what the nurse said after attending to her when they learned that she woke up.

The doctor who examined her told her what happened to her, that she was hit by a car and she ended up losing consciousness. And that the driver of the car brought her to the hospital.

When Belle was release at the hospital, and the person who accidentally hit her paid the bill, she was brought at an orphanage since she has an amnesia and there was no one they can contact for her.

After a few months at the orphanage, a couple who can't have children decided to adopt her. And because Belle couldn't remember anything, and that she thought that she has no family, Belle was happy that she'll have a family who will love and care for her.
