The Palauan bureaucrat on Babelthaup was apparently as good to his word as money could buy. When Sayed Abdullah and Dr. Susilo Nasuton arrived on Peleliu via the yacht’s runabout boat, they were met at the Camp Beck dock by the island’s governor. He promised full and enthusiastic support for the aquaculture experimental team he’d been told would be resident on the island for several months. He was also visibly disappointed when Abdullah informed him that none of their team members would be staying in the three or four local establishments that offered lodging on Peleliu.
