Two

About four years ago I had been a straight A one student at school, just like Mrs. Richwood had remarked. I was the top of my class and was so bright. My future was bright and everything was in perfect place for me. I came from an extremely middle class lower family. Which meant that life could be difficult for us sometimes. Sometimes, we couldn't even afford our needs.  My father worked in the mines downtown, while my mum worked as a manager of a boutique. Things weren't always easy for us, but we lived.  I had two younger sibling. Lionel was 17 and Leticia was just nine. Being the oldest and first child, I was the rising star of the family. My parents wanted me to succeed in what they didn't. They wanted me to go to university and pass with a first class and get a job with some big shot company in the city. That was the plan. That was how everything was supposed to be. But then I had met Cian Stonewell and everything had changed. Cian was nothing like me. Cian was the son of the wealthiest family in town.  One day I had been walking back from school as usual -unlike every other student at school, I didn't own a car and so most times to save cost and money, I walked home- when I had heard a horn. I turned and saw the cleanest and most expensive sports car I had ever seen in my entire life. The glass was wound down and then I saw Cian.  He was what someone would call beautiful. His eyes were sea green so clear and bright I thought they were fake. His brows were full, but neatly carved, his nose were perfect and his strawberry pink lips were define. He had bright and spotless skin and his hark hair fitted his handsome and well carved face. The mere sight of him had made me breathless. He had asked me for directions to the most expensive part of town and I had directed him to it. He had wanted to give me a ride, but I had declined heavily until he had eventually left. That evening when I was working shifts at the departments store I worked in, I had been shocked to see him come in. He had even seemed surprised to see me and he had smiled. His smile had a boyish grin that made me want to melt. That evening, we had become friends and I had found out that he was the son of the Stonewell family who were the richest family in the whole town. He had come to town over some family business he needed to secure. Cian was twenty four while I was eighteen. We  fell in love fast and Cian was the best thing that ever happened to me. He loved me despite my background and where I came from. He always wanted to be with me and my entire family loved him. We planned on being together forever. But I had been a complete fool. I later discovered that I was pregnant and before I could tell him, the police pulled up at school and I was arrested right in front of everyone.  When I got to the police station, I was accused of stealing the Stonewell family jewelry. I had been shocked and demanded to see Cian and my parents. The police denied me any of that and a few hours later, they turned up with the family jewelry after they had allegedly ransacked my house. It was obviously a set up, but the police didn't hear it. I was locked up and a few days later, I was released. When I had gotten home, my mum had told me that Cian had dropped the charges. I asked why I hadn't been allowed to see anyone, and she told me that the police had declined. And when I had asked if he believed it was all a set up, she shook her head and said no. I never saw Cian after that. I had gone to his house to look for him, but his mother who had never liked me from the start kicked me out. Later, I had heard that Cian had gone back to the city and was no longer in town. I was ridiculed by everyone in town, called a thief and my classmates laughed at me. The only friend that I maintained was my best friend Lily.  Things got worse when my pregnancy began to show. My parents had been heartbroken and I was made an even bigger laughing stock. No one wanted to associate with me anymore. I was the wayward and loose girl of the town with a bastard child. I had to stop going to school and study from home for my final exams. After my exams, I had passed with flying colors and gotten scholarships, but when the schools found out I was pregnant and having a child was going to be a bigger situation, my scholarships were revoked. Each and every one of them.  My parents had no money to send me to college and so I  had to stay back at home. I gave birth to a baby girl finally. I named her Vivian and she had the greenest eyes one could ever imagine, and her raven black hair was in contrast to my strawberry blonde hair. She was the spitting image of her father. She was the only reason why I was still standing, she was the only reason why I was still strong. I had tried my best to reach out to Cian, but all attempts had proven abortive. He was gone and it was gone. It broke my heart how he never even asked to see me. After all we had been through together. After he had been the first and still the only man that had ever touched me and that I had loved. I bit my lip in worry.  I had gone from different jobs, but was always refused. The one I had managed to get, I didn't last a single day. It was a job as a bartender and one of the men had tried to assault me. I quit my job that very day and went home.  I was struggling, managing just by the day. I had no idea how long I was going to keep surviving like this. Vivian was growing up and it broke my heart that she wasn't getting the childhood she deserved. It broke my heart that I had to lean on my parents who were already struggling to make ends meet. As I walked down the road in the rain, I couldn't take it anymore. I sat on a bench and wept my heart out.
