Nadia’s Journey A Hybrid’s Awakening

Chaper 7

I can not believe I fell asleep with my head in Noah’s lap. “I am so sorry I fell asleep; it has been a long day. I guess hiking in the falls today really wore me out.”

“I didn’t mind, you looked like a sleeping princess. Aside from the snoring,” Noah says with a little chuckle.

“I do not snore,” I laughed. “It's getting late, and we have school in the morning. Even though I fell asleep, it was nice hanging out with you. I will see you at school tomorrow.”

I walked Noah to the front door, and we said goodnight. He heads out the door to his truck, and I head up to my room to get some much-needed sleep before school tomorrow.

“Nadia, you taste good. I could kiss you forever.” Noah says seductively. He kisses me passionately then trails kisses down my neck, stopping at my breast to suckle them. Noah continues kissing my body down to my thigh; he hooks a finger around my underwear. He pulls them down slowly, then throws them on the floor. He kisses my inner thigh, gently inching closer and closer to my middle.

‘Beep beep beep,’ my alarm clock sounds, and I wake to hit the snooze button. Oh my god, these dreams have got to stop! Why do I keep having these dreams about Noah? I get out of bed and head for my bathroom to shower before school. After my shower, I headed downstairs to eat breakfast. The doorbell rings as I finish my breakfast.

“Nadia, Dimitri is here,” I heard my father yell.

I put my dishes away and went to the front door to see Dimitri standing there looking well-groomed and a big smile on his face.

“Hey Dimitri, what are you doing here?” I asked, rather confused.

“I thought I would take you to school again today. If that is OK with you?”

“Sure, but you know I will be getting my license soon, and you won’t have to take me anymore,” I told him.

“We will see,” he chuckles. As we head out the door, I look at Dimitri’s car and see a familiar truck parked behind him. Noah! What is he doing here? As we walked down the walkway, Noah stepped out of his truck to greet me.

“Noah, what are you doing here?”

“I thought I could take you to school today, but it looks like I am a little late.”

“I’m sorry Noah, Dimitri has already asked if he could take me. Maybe you can take me tomorrow?” I ask a little unsure if being alone with him again is a good idea.

“Yeah, I can do that. Well, I will see you at school, Nadia.” Noah waves and heads off to school. I climbed into Dimitri’s car and buckled up.

“What was that all about? How did he know where you lived?” Dimitri blurts out in a panic.

“Apparently Char told him. He showed up last night after our family outing and asked if we could hang out. We watched a movie, which I fell asleep during.” I try to explain to him.

“OK, so you had a date with him?” Dimitri says somberly.

“No, we didn’t have a date; we just hung out and watched a movie. Well, he watched a movie, and I slept,” I chuckled.

We ride to school in an awkward silence. Once we arrive, we are met by Charlotte. She runs up to us and gives Dimitri and me a hug. I notice that she keeps her hand on Dimitri’s arm for a little longer than normal.

“Good morning, besties!” Charlotte says so cheerfully.

“Good morning Char, how was your weekend?” I ask.

“Oh you know we had a basketball game on Saturday and, of course, kicked butt 10-3.” She says so enthusiastically.

“Wow, that is great, Char,” Dimitri says.

“Let’s get to class guys,” I announced.

The bell rings, and we head inside the building to our first-period classes. Char and I head to science class. Thanks to Dimitri helping me hone my sixth sense, I was not overwhelmed when I stepped into class today. I can make out that Mr. Abernathy is a witch; there are three witch students, four werewolf students, and two vampire students in my class.

“Today class, we will be working in pairs to identify plant parts. OK, everyone, pick your partner, and let’s see who can identify the plant parts faster.” Mrs. Abernathy announces.

“Nadia, will you be my partner?” Noah walks over and asks me.

“Um, I was going to be partners with Charlotte.”

“No no, you go ahead, Noah. I am going to go partner up with Trey.” Charlotte declares.

“Thanks, Char,” I said while giving her the side eye. She knows about my dreams, what is she doing to me.

“What’s wrong, Nadia? Do you not want to work with me?” Noah asks seeming a little sad.

“No, that’s not it at all, Noah. I just, um, well, to be honest, you make me nervous.”

“I make you nervous? How do I make you nervous, Nadia?” Noah asks in a sultry way that makes me blush.

“I don’t know, you just do. Can we start on the assignment now?”

“Yeah, sure. We can win this thing. I am confident.”

We get to work on the assignment and finished in first place. Noah is really smart. I am doing well in this class, but I am struggling in Math. I know he is in AP Calculus. Maybe he could help me with my math. I would take him up on his offer of tutoring me, but I don’t know if I can get over this feeling I have when I’m around him. But then again maybe that is the way to get over it is by spending more time with him and getting to know him.

“Hey Noah I am struggling in my Math class, do you uh, do you think you could help me?” I ask shyly.

“Yeah sure, when would you like to start?”

“How about today after school?”

“That works for me, I could give you a ride home if you want.”

“Yeah sure that will be good. Thank you, Noah.”

The bell rings and we head to our next class. Yay, gym class! My sixth sense is getting better and better. While in the locker room, I can distinguish there are 2 werewolf classmates, 1 vampire, and 3 witches. We head to the gym and line up, and as Coach walks up I can now sense that she is a werewolf. That makes so much sense I laugh to myself.

“Good morning class, today we will be training for the yearly triathlon. The triathlon is being held here at Crest Academy this year in just a few weeks. Today we will be seeing what your strengths and weaknesses are, so we know where to place you.” Coach walks over to me and pulls me to the side, “have you spoken to Headmaster Coolly yet Nadia?”

“No Coach I had forgotten”

“OK well go ahead and head to his office and speak with him now,” she instructs. I leave the gym and head to Mr. Coolly’s office. I knock on the door and hear his deep horse bass voice say “Come in Nadia”.

“Hello Mr. Coolly I am sorry I forgot to come see you after the talk with my parents, it’s been very overwhelming.” As I sit there I can smell his scent, he is a werewolf but there is something else. I can see a red hue glowing around him, what is that?

“So how did your talk with your parents go Nadia? Did they explain what you are?”

“Yes, they did. And you knew what I was didn’t you because of the sixth sense?” I ask.

“Yes Nadia I did, but I thought it best your parents explain it to you. Have you been working on your powers and honing your sixth sense?”

“Yes, Sir I have. I can tell you are a werewolf but I can’t make sense of the red hue that is glowing around you.”

“You are half witch which means you can see auras. What you are seeing is my aura.” Mr. Coolly explains.

“Oh yeah, my mother told me about that. She didn’t explain the difference in colors though.”

“My aura is red because I am an Alpha.”

“Oh, that makes sense. I have also been able to tell that Coach is a werewolf but I didn’t see her aura.”

“That is because only high-ranking werewolves will emit an aura detectable to you.”

"High-ranking werewolves? Sorry, I don't know much about werewolves yet."

"That is alright you will learn, in werewolf culture, there are the alphas, betas, deltas, and Omegas. Alphas are the highest ranking and the leaders of the pack, Betas are the second highest rank and the Alpha's right hand, advisor, and next in command. Deltas are the messengers of the pack and risk their lives to keep peace, Omegas are the lowest rank." Mr. Coolly explains to me.

"Oh OK, I see. So is Coach an Omega?"

"Yes, Nadia she is an Omega. Now I would like to talk to you about your powers and keeping them under control when at school. Here at Crest Academy, we do have human students and staff, so we must be careful to not show our powers. You will need to learn to control your vamp speed and strength when doing school sports, gym class, etc."

"I will ask my Father to teach me how to control my powers so that I do not draw attention to myself, Mr. Coolly."

"Thank you, Nadia. That will be all for now. If you ever need anything, my door is always open." Mr. Coolly says and waves me goodbye. I headed back to class just in time for it to be over. Well, I guess I dodged a bullet there hehe.
