Chapter 6:Glowing and Growing

THIRD PERSON’S POV:
As Alexis transforms into Nala, everyone can now see that Nala’s white fur now has a blue glow around it.
Crystal smiles, “I knew it.”
“What does this mean!” Samual asks turning everyone’s attention to Crystal.
Crystal walks over to Nala and runs her fingers through her fur. “It more or less represents the power that Alexis and Nala have. Usually a glow happens during the first few days for some… For others it will be there indefinitely.. Neither cause pain. It is more just worrisome as you don’t want any extra targets on Alexis…” Crystal pauses. “I would keep the mark covered and not transform to keep this a secret.”
“But many already know she is strong and powerful? Why would it matter if more knew?” Isabella stepped forward asking, very confused.
“Yes some know that Alexis was strong and powerful before she got her wolf. You are right. But this is a different type of strength and power. Anyone who sees this may try to take advantage of the fact the Queen has all of these powers..” Crystal adds.
Isabella and a few others nod.
“So we need to just hide the mark until it stops glowing? After that is it ok for others to see?” Dimitri asks.
Crystals face changes. “I’m not sure. I think it will definitely show she’s different and powerful. However, I think she’s more at risk of being a target if it is glowing..”
Dimitri and Samual both nod.
“Can you have everyone turn around while I turn back? I want to be human again.” Alexis asks Samual and Dimitri in a mindlink.
“Please turn around so Alexis can transform back.” Samual asks kindly.
“NOW!” Dimitri commands.
Suddenly everyone turns around with their backs facing the trio.
Alexis transforms back quickly and throws on the hoodie and pants Caitlyn brought with.
“I’m sorry about that. I just wanted to be a part of the conversation.. So I must remain covered to keep myself safe?” Alexis asks.
Crystal nods, “Precisely. Many have heard about the glow, very few have seen it in real life.. Just be safe and it hopefully will fade.”
It is quiet for a moment.
“And if it doesn’t?” Alexis asks worried.
“We will have to figure it out if it comes down to that. Ok? Right now let’s not think about it. Just keep covered and you will be safe. Ok?” Crystal asks.
Alexis nods.
Everyone is quiet for a moment.
“I am curious…” Gentri starts to say with a smile and a raised eyebrow.
“Let’s do it!” Alexis yells competitively.
The two walk to each other and do a quick fist bump. Then start stretching.
“Wait. What’s going on??” Caitlyn asks.
“I think Gentri wants to test out Alexis’ new strengths..” Samual states with a smirk.
Everyone moves to the side where there are a few benches so they could watch.
“Shouldn’t we have one of the trainers here?” Caitlyn asks.
At that moment both Jacob and Derrick walk in.
Samual and Dimitri get defensive and block their path.
Maverick walks up and states, “relax. These are the two who have been training Alexis. We know they are both trust worthy. They are safe to be here.” He pauses and looks over at Alexis who is in her own work stretching. “I would never do anything to compromise or risk the safety of Alexis. She’s my family.”
At that both Dimitri and Samual relax.
“So I hear a little lady got her wolf!” Jacob yells out pulling Alexis back to reality.
She turns around and smiles proudly and nods her head.
“So how about we test out these new strengths?” Derrick asks with a smirk.
“HELL YEAH!” Alexis yells ready to see if anything had changed. She was already pretty fast and strong.
She then notices that the two are lined up to compete too.. Derrick is super fast and Jacob is super strong..
“What is going on?” Alexis asks confused.
“You didn’t think we’d let you go against just Gentri, did you? You’ve been beating him for months without your wolf.. So let’s make it a little more difficult against 3 people..” Derrick states with a smirk.
Alexis thinks about it and shrugs. Finishes her stretching..
ALEXIS’ POV:
I finish stretching. And decide to do a quick meditation. I close my eyes and slow my breathing.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
“GO!” Someone yells. And I just go. The entire course was easy. Before I struggled with a few things. This time everything came with ease. I finish and I noticed that I am not sweaty. I am not out of breath.. I look back and see both approaching the last part of the obstacle. Soon everyone is rushing me.
“That was beyond impressive.” Maverick says proudly.
“Holy s**t! I’ve never seen anyone so fast before! You are completely badass!!!” Caitlyn states giving me a high five.
My mom, dad, and Isabella were all giving me compliments but I was too busy watching the 3 get finished.. How did I beat them by that much? I notice they are all huffing and puffing and sweating like crazy.
The three walk over to us.
“That was amazing! In my entire life I have never seen anyone that fast before. You slid through this course like it was a walk in the park.. You’re not even sweating??” Derrick asks beyond impressed.
I shrug.
“I wonder about sparing.. Do you have the time?” Jacob asks curiously.
“We have the time. Let’s do it!” I try to sound enthusiastic, but Jacob has always won’t when we do 1 on 1 sparring.. So I’m anxious to see how this goes. Especially in front of my guys… I look over at them and notice they are both beaming and talking to everyone about how badass I just was and everything they watched. That made me smile. I walk over to the mat. We both put our helmets on and tape our hands. Although we have our wolves and can heal ourselves quickly, Jacob feels we should take care of our bodies and protect them when possible. I agree. It makes sense.
After we are both ready we square up.
Derrick is at the side and yells “GO!”
Jacob tries to quickly hit me. I move to the side.
He tries to throw a body punch but I dodge it.
“Oh are you scared?” Jacob taunts me.
I go at him with a right hook.
The strength behind it sends him flying back a good foot. He quickly shakes it off and stands up coming at me again. He hits my chin and then I land 3 side hits. He tries to hit me and I dodge it and counter it with one more right hook. This one sends him flying and he lands on his back. He just lays there for a second and then taps.
I walk over and help him up.
“You good? I didn’t mean to hit you that hard or hurt you… I’m sorry…” I plead apologetically.
He shakes his head no.
This makes me confused.
“You should never say you’re sorry for kicking someone’s ass! I’m proud of you! You’ve come such a long way! Be proud of yourself and the badass you are!” Jacob praises me with a big smile.
All 3 give me a quick high five.
“I just knew you’d get stronger and faster once you had your wolf. Now after all of that training you have the means to control that strength now. That’s what truly matters.” Derrick states.
I nod.
“Thank you.” I pause and look at all 3. “Thank you. All three of you. You guys had faith in me. You had patience.. Well not you Jacob..” I pause and everyone laughs “All jokes aside thank you. All of you. Thank you.” I say emotionally.
“No crying here unless I caused it during training!” Jacob says. Then smiles. “Any time kid.”
