Chapter 28: One Choice

THIRD PERSON POV::

Every single person from the party is now back in the trio’s guest room.

Alice is yelling and screaming at Crystal.

Alexis is trying to get them to stop.

“ENOUGH!” Alexis yells and commands and the room goes silent.

Everyone begins to stare at Alexis who is standing next to Alice and Crystal. Dimitri and Samual are standing behind her with the bed behind them. Everyone else is standing on the other side of Alice and Crystal.

“Crystal. What exactly does this spell entail?” Alexis asks curiously.

Crystal looks beyond fed up at this point.

“With this spell, you must be asleep. If we went with the plan I had…” she pauses and gives a look to Alice. “Your mother would use her powers to convince your mind to have a vision… During this time I would be lying next to you. Our heads have to be touching as well as holding a hand.. I would then have to fall asleep as well. Velkan would then use his magic to help my spiritual body transcend into your vision. Where I will then produce the spell that will protect your mind.. I will have a very limited time to get in and out before Velkan pulls me out and your mom stops your vision.. The problems involved in this are… 1: you will be vulnerable for anyone to enter your sleep realm and are able to reach you. Just as Celestia did. 2: The time limit ends whether or not we finished it. 3: It is also very dangerous for both of us. There have been people who never woke up from this particular spell.. 4: If I mess up I can cause permanent damage to your brain and memories… However, THIS is the only thing I can think of that would protect your mind while you sleep..” Crystal explains.

Everyone stands in silence.

Alexis turns to face Samual and Dimitri. Both who have matching expressions of processing, worry, and fear.

“What do you two think?” She asks them bluntly, not wasting any time.

“I am unsure.. This seems to be extremely dangerous with only a very small sliver of a chance that it will work.. I am not sure the chance of it working outweighs all of the potential damage you may experience..” Dimitri explains his opinion. “There has to be an other way.”

“And if there isn’t Dimitri? Just keep letting that monster have access to Alexis until she can get to her?? If we do not act on this now, I really fear for Alexis’ safety..” Samual shouts angrily and then pauses. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breathe. Then he takes both Dimitri and Alexis’ hands and continues. “Although this choice is very dangerous with a lot of risks, we do not have an other choice. Not doing anything is going to be just as if not more dangerous. I trust Crystal. She knows what she’s talking about. I also trust your mom and Velkan to handle everything on this side. What just happened was terrifying. If your mom wasn’t here and we were at the cottage.. What if we couldn’t get the fire put out in time like she did??” Samual asks fighting back tears.

Alexis hugs him tightly then turns to Crystal. “Alight. What do I need to do?” Alexis asks trying to hold back the fear rising inside of her. Trying to be strong and confident.

Crystal smiles big and starts running around getting everything ready.

After an other everything was ready.

“Ok. Alexis you will lay on one side of the bed.. No pillows..We have to be lying flat. In a 30 degree angle. So not laying straight up and down like you normally would. Once you are lying down I am going to lay down next to you. I will give you the potion to help you go to sleep. Only because I know you are way too worked up to sleep.. I will be taking the same one after you are fully asleep. Once you are asleep and I’ve taken the potion, I will quickly lay down and hold your hand. I will be lying at a 30 degree angle towards the opposite side. This way our heads are touching easier. Our bodies should sort of make the letter “m”. Everyone in the room will watch to make sure our heads are always touching and we never let go of each other’s hands.. While I am taking the potion your mom will induce a your mind into a vision. Once I am fully asleep and your vision has started, Velkan will help move my spiritual body into your mind and vision. I will have 15 minutes to get this done. You will need to be aware of your surroundings. Do not go searching for anyone or anything. I will find you. I will then place a spell inside to protect you. It will also vanquish anything that is in there that does not belong. Which is why you have to be with me and holding my hand when I release the spell.. Once the time is up Velkan will remove me from your mind and place me back into my body. Your mom will slowly end your vision and we wake up when our bodies are ready…” she pauses. A mixture of excitement and fear in her tone. “Are you ready?”

Alexis looks at everyone in the room. She gets up and hugs every single person. Then she gets to Samual and Dimitri. The three hug for what seems like eternity. Then Samual kisses her lips softly and then the top of her head. Dimitri kisses her lips softly and then places a kiss on her cheek.

She then climbs onto the bed afraid but ready. She angles her body 30 degrees to the left, then sits up and takes the position. “I love you all.. So much.” Then lays down. Soon she is asleep. Crystal climbs onto the bed.

She turns her body 30 degrees to the right. Takes the potion. As Crystal takes the position Alice begins the spell to induce a vision in Alexis’ mind. Crystal lays down. Her head firmly against Alexis’ and grabs Alexis’ right hand. Soon they both are asleep..

Alexis begins to slowly convulse, which allowed everyone to realize she was indeed having a vision.

Velkan went to work. Saying words in what sounded like Latin. Soon you see a white ball of light protruding out of Crystals body. This causes a collective gasps from everyone in the room. He slowly moves this ball of light into Alexis’ head. Lucian starts the time of 15 minutes.

Now everyone has to just wait and hope it works. Hope nothing bad happens.

Hope they both wake up.

Alexis begins screaming.

Dimitri and Samual sit on the bed by her head to make sure she does not move from Crystal.

Then Alexis starts mumbling something in a language no one recognized.

Then it was quiet again.

Everyone sighed with a relief feeling this was over.

That’s when Alexis starts screeching and everyone has to cover their ears. This screech is so high pitch it felt like your ear drums might explode.

Her body starts to try to levitate but Samual throws his body onto hers. This works until her body becomes engulfed in flames.

Alice quickly puts out the fire while Velkan keeps Alexis held down.

Alexis’ body then begins to twitch and shake and bend in very uncomfortable and painful ways. Causing Caitlyn to puke. Maverick thankfully could sense her about to puke and had grabbed a trash can for her. He tried to get her out but she refused. Isabella began rubbing Caitlyn’s back.

Alexis then begins screaming. After a minute the screaming stops. Her eyes open and turn black. “This is by far from over. I WILL get her. Her powers will be mine, and she will die!” A voice protruding from Alexis’ claimed and then was gone. Her eyes shut. The voice sent chills down everyone’s spine.

Silence.

You could hear a leaf fall outside due to how quiet it is..

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

The timer went off startling everyone..

Lucian removed the ball of light from Alexis’ head and puts it back in Crystal. Then Alice stops the vision.

Both bodies go from looking stiff to relaxing..

But no one is waking up…

Dimitri and Samual sit starting at Alexis. Moving the hair off of her face. After an hour they move both bodies to allow them to have a pillow and a blanket. Dimitri and Samual helped dab the sweat off of both women’s faces after making sure they were both comfortable.

After 2 hours everyone went back to their room except Alice, Velkan, Lucian, and Isabella. Maverick practically had to drag Caitlyn away only after she got every single person to promise to wake her up if there was a change.
