Chapter 20: It is time: preparations

THIRD PERSON’S POV:::

While Alexis enjoyed time with her mom, stepmom, and sister her men were busy..

Dimitri and Samual walking down a hallway with a groups of men.

“Security is prepped and ready?” Samual asks.

“Yes.” A man answers.

“They understand where to stand, what do to if this go awry? Who the main priority is?” Dimitri asks.

“Yes. Positions have been assigned for each guard. Yes they all have been trained and explained on what to do in different situations. And yes everyone knows Queen Alexis is the main priority.” One shorter man quickly answers trying to keep up with everyone.

“I give you my word that everyone wants to protect Alexis as much as you do.. Clearly not for similar reasons however, many are very attached to her already. They will not allow harm to come towards her.” An other man quickly follows in suit in answering.

“We have discussed the possibility of having two guards assigned to her. Especially at main events. Many queens have their own guards.” The first man quickly explained.

The group stopped in the arena eyeing the room.

The way this was built is so that there are multiple floors in this arena. There is the main floor that is set up like a ballroom. It is a large room with black and white tile floor that are polished. The ceiling reaches far above with a giant gold chandelier. There is a stage on one side with 3 large thrones. All 3 are black with gold trim, frame, and legs. To the opposite side of the stage there is a staircase. The staircase is white with black carpet, the trim is white while the railings are made of black iron. This staircase goes up a floor and on that floor there is a railing that goes around half of the room. This allows the guests who are on the second floor, a view of the main floor. Both levels have large windows and mirrors covering most of the matte black walls. Small light fixtures placed strategically throughout the area.

The main floor currently has rows and rows of chairs placed these same chairs fill the second floor as well. All of the chairs are folding chairs to make it easier to put away when they are done. A little tacky some might say, but they are working with what they have. They plan to have much nicer chairs after the castle is finished, as there will be a place to put away the chairs.

When you enter from outside you enter into a little area that leads down a hall. Once down the hall there are 3 sets of double doors. Before you enter the ballroom there are multiple bathrooms for guests to use on either side.

“I do wish we had more time so we could have the proper seating for our guests..” Dimitri pauses and looks around. “However, these shall do for today.”

They nod and walk up the stairs to scope out the second floor.

“And you have had one of our witches place a spell to only allow entrance through the front doors? Eliminating any access through portals inside our castle??” Samual asks.

“Of course your majesty. We actually had the privilege of having the queens mother, Alice, cast the spell. Her mate Velkan helped place a spell to prevent any possessions as well as a protection spell.” A guard answers.

Samual still has a look of unsure covering his face.

Everyone stops walking.

“I agree that we should have two guards for Alexis…” Dimitri begins and pauses. “Please have both Gentri and Warin meet Samual and myself in the room we are setting up for Alexis.”

They all separated. Dimitri and Samual headed to a room that is off to the side of the stage.

Inside the room is set up different. As opposed to the black and white like the ballroom, this room was softer and silver. The walls are grey. There is only one window, it is at the back of the room and has a window seat. The room has a couch with side tables on each end. The room has a giant mirror next to a closet in order to try on clothes and admire yourself. There is a vanity with a chair, giant mirror with lights around it. Off the side there is a little bathroom.

This room was created as a private room for the royal family. They may use it for preparation for ceremonies, a private bathroom, or even just to get away for a minute.

A knock on the door, followed by the door opening.

In walks Gentri and Warin. They both seem confused on what is going on. They have also never met each other before.

Gentri is a good friend of Alexis, they have been close ever since they moved to the MoonShadow pack. Warin has become a friend of Alexis’ while she visited Dimitri.

The two standing by each other looked like night and day.

Gentri is 6’4” with an athletic build, he has muscles but isn’t massive in size. He has tan skin that go with his long blonde hair and blue eyes.

Warin is shorter, around 5’5”. He is stocky and stacked with large muscles. He also has a dark complexion with black hair and pitch black eyes.

“What is going on?” Gentri asks quickly as he shuts the door.

“We have called you both here to discuss something that has the upmost importance to us.” Dimitri starts.

“We have decided that the two of you should be Alexis’ bodyguards more or less.” Samual adds.

They two both looked confused.

“What? Why are you thinking that? You do realize how strong and powerful she is? Do you not?” Gentri asks a little offended.

“No kidding. She could easily take on us all. She can easily protect herself… Why do you feel she needs protection??” Warin asks.

“The discussion and decision was made on not she can protect herself. It is more to do with as Queen she will need more protection. Especially two dedicated to just her. While all the other guards will be helping with everything and everyone, you both will be on private duty of watching her..” Dimitri explains.

It is quiet for a moment.

“I can understand me, but who are you?” Gentri asks cutting to the point.

“I am Warin. One of the warriors from the vampires kingdom.. I have gotten close with Alexis while she has been visiting… Who are you?” Warin asks with his hand out stretched.

“My name isn’t Gentri. I met Alexis when we were both in the Moonshadow. When I turned 18 I became a warrior for the werewolves kingdoms..” Gentri explains and shakes Warin’s hand.

“Now that you both know each other, I want you both to understand everything that is expected of you both for tonight.” Dimitri adds

Later on::

ALEXIS’ POV::

It has been a nice and relaxing day with my family. I spent time being pampered and enjoying all of the food. I enjoyed relaxing and not worrying about anything..

Soon a knock at the door interrupts my thoughts.

I open the door and see both Gentri and Warin.

I quickly give them both a hug.

“What are you guys doing here?” I ask curiously.

“We are here to guide you to where you will get ready.” Gentri explains.

“Beautiful ladies, can you please grab everything that Alexis needs and follow us?” Warin asks.

Once we were outside Gentri took out a gold blindfold.

I step back.

“This was requested by both King Dimitri and Kng Samual. I apologize for the inconvenience Queen Alexis.. But we are under strict orders.” Warin quickly adds.

I look at Caitlyn who just nods with a smile.

I shrug defeated.

They tie the blindfold on, and then both grab my hands.

We walk for a while and then stop. I hear a door open and we walk inside??? Where are we??

Next thing I know no one is by me. It’s just me.. I take off the blindfold and I’m in a beautiful silver and grey room. It appears to be a dressing room. As I am admiring the room I notice a note taped to the mirror of the vanity.

“Our dearest little dove,

Please get ready.

We will see you shortly.

Love Dimitri and Samual.”

I feel a smile on my face. I look and see my dress in its bag hanging by the large mirror.

I decide I need to shower quickly.

As I get out I put on the robe that is hung up for me.

Then I hear a knock at one of the doors. It then opens. My mom, Caitlyn, and Isabella come in. They admire the room and then look at me.

“Let’s get you ready!” My mom says with tears in her eyes.
