Chapter 23: Heat

SAMUAL’S POV::

Ever since Dimitri brought up children the one night, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. We really never had these typically question conversations. We had bigger things in our minds. But now that we are married, marked, and mated I just have to know…

At that moment almost as if Dimitri was in my head..

“I know this is not the ideal time to talk about this.. How do you feel about having children? In the future? Samual and I were discussing this one day. However, we had both realized we never discussed this. Not once..” Dimitri asks.

Alexis sits there and you can see her thinking about it.

“I had honestly never really thought about it before..” She pauses for a moment. “But having both of you as my mates, I know any children we have will be safe and taken care of.” She answers. “But maybe we wait until we solve this issue first.

“From everything I have read, it is very rare for the royal family to have more than one baby.. We know how close you are to your sister. Are you ok if we could only have one?” I ask curiously.

She nods with a smile. “As long as the baby has you two as their dads, I don’t care if we have 1 or 100!” She responds. This makes me so happy.

I am lost on something else but do not want to bring it up now..

“What is wrong Sam?” Alexis asks.

I shake my head, “nothing. It is nothing.” I respond quickly and kiss her hand.

“Cut the bullshit Samual. We both can feel you are worried about something. What is wrong? We cannot help you if you do not disclose what is bothering you.” Dimitri adds with a tone of both worry and annoyance in his voice.

“I am just wondering how it would work? How would we know whose baby it is if there is only one? And what kingdom would the baby run? Would we have to find out so they can run the one that they match? This is all new territory and I have so many questions running through my mind…” I explain as I stare at the ground.

“Sam, look at me.” Alexis gently commands.

I look up at her and look into her beautiful eyes. “That is a good question. I think for me personally, I would not want to know who the biological father is. I would hope you both would raise the child as if they are yours no matter what…” she pauses and looks at Dimitri.

He stood there silently for a moment. “That honestly makes the most sense to me. As you are both my mates, no matter the genetic makeup of the child, they would be mine.” He responds and I smile.

I nod. “I agree.”

“Ok good. I’m glad we are all on the same page as each other..” Alexis state’s happily.

“As for ruling?” Dimitri pauses. “Our kingdoms are now connected. Our heir would rule BOTH kingdoms as they are now one.”

I nod. “I agree with this as well. I think that makes sense. I didn’t think about that before.”

Alexis sat there quietly. Dimitiri and I quickly grab her hands and sit by her on the bed.

“What is it my love?” Dimitri asks so gently.

She looked up at us and had tears in her eyes.

A knock on the door interrupts us.

Gentri and Warin walk in.

“Sorry to interrupt, they have give the ‘all-clear’ and we need to leave.” Gentri explains.

I nod. Dimitri picks up Alexis and I quickly grab her things.

We get into the car and drive home.. Well almost home. There still is not a road to drive on to get to the cottage. The castle is not done so we cannot sleep there.

We make it to the farthest the road goes and we get out. We begin our short walk to the cottage.

As we approach I notice there are a few people walking around it.

Zeus growls.

“Zeus, it’s ok. I can tell it’s my mom, sister, and Crystal. We are safe. We are ok.” Alexis sweetly says and instantly calms Zeus and myself.

She then smiles at me.

“Took you guys long enough!” Caitlyn exclaims.

“What are you guys doing here?” Alexis asks.

“We wanted to make sure the entire cottage was secure.” Crystal answers.

“Well we just wanted everything to be fully ready when you got home. Between the spells, food, and stuff to help with the weakness and pain.” Alice explains and kisses Alexis’ head.

“Well what are we waiting for? Let’s go inside!” Caitlyn exclaims.

What is going on with her? She is ALLLL over the place and loud.

“From what I can read from her wolf, she is likely to go into heat soon. Which can make them very irritable. We need to make sure she is home before she goes into heat.” Zeus explains.

“What? What is heat? And why does it matter where she is?” I ask him.

“A wolf going through heat is almost the extreme edition to a human woman ovulating..” he tries to explain.

“That is only part of it. But yes. The female wolf goes into a sort of frenzy. The frenzy and s*x drive does not stop until their heat has ended.” Zeus goes on to explain.

“How long does this amped up s*x drive last?” I ask.

“It depends. It can be just a few days. However, especially with powerful women, it can last up to 10 days.” Zeus answers.

“Damn. That is a lot! But what does it matter if she is at home? Clearly she would be safe here?” I ask curiously.

“I am confused. Alexis smells good but why would her scent bother anyone else?” I ask completely confused.

They will not be able to resist the scent and wanting to help the women out from her pain… It is hard to explain. Once Alexis’ goes through it you will understand more.. For now? We need them to leave now. You should also let me talk to Nala and explain so she can talk to Lilly.” Zeus explains.

I simply nod.

“Alexis, I need to talk to Nala.” I hear Zeus say to Alexis in my head.

“What is wrong Zeus?” I hear Nala ask worried. The sound of Nala saying Zeus’ name sent him in a position of desire.

“Is everything ok?” I hear Alice ask.
