Chapter 14: The day before

ALEXIS’ POV:
I wake up and look at the clock..
4am
It’s Friday! I cannot even try to sleep anymore. I’m going to get up and get coffee and relax before getting ready for the day.
Today Caitlyn and I are going to have a little lunch in her secret garden. Tomorrow is the day I become queen of not one, but TWO kingdoms. I am beyond stressed and anxious about it. The one thing getting me through is my lunch with my sister.
Monday and Wednesday I went with Sam to his castle. I spent time following him around off and on. I’m not allowed in any meetings since I am not the queen yet, and it is a privacy policy. I spent time with his dad drinking coffee in my greenhouse. We talked for over an hour on Wednesday. His mom had to drag me away. I love his dad and our talks. His mom went over plans for Saturday and last minute choices.. The parts I was allowed to see.. His grandma and I spent time together as well. We went and had breakfast together on Monday with their chef Yurelli, they are best friends and make me laugh. I even made time to train with Sam’s uncle Vincent and Gentri.
Tuesday and Thursday I went with Dimitri to his castle. I was able to follow him around and meet more vampires that I had not met yet. Not just those who live in their castle but ones who live in covens around the world. A majority of them coming for our ceremony tomorrow. Some are still skeptical of me as I am not a vampire. Some still do not trust werewolves. Some are scared of witches.. Any time someone got even close to offending me or seemed they may harm me Dimitri, his father, Atlantis, and Warin would step in. Atlantis is the head guard the one in charge of all guards. He is tough but has been sweet to me. He has even let me train with him. The trainings they do are so different than the ones I have done. Most of my trainings it’s all about strength. The trainings here they not only focus on the physical strength but also the mental and emotional strength. Taping into your emotions and using them to fully control yourself. It is a much deeper connection of body and mind than I have ever experienced, even with my trainings for my powers. It is like I have now tapped into some extra energy..
Warin is one of the guards. He walked in on the first private trainings that I was having with Atlantis. He stayed because he thought it would be funny to watch. He said he knew who I was and didn’t think I was capable of the trainings they do. He was in awe and watched the entire hour long session. After he walked up and introduced himself to me. He was raving at how amazing and strong I was. That he really didn’t expect to see me do so well. I ended up talking with him for an hour. He’s really cool. I never met him before because he was skeptical of me, as many others are. However, that is not the case anymore. Dimitri appeared out of no where about an hour into our conversation. He seemed a little jealous but was also extremely pleased to see me getting along with one of the guards. After that he talked to all of the guards and told them when he saw and how he really liked me. Things really turned around after that. The guards began to show me respect. Before it felt more like they were merely protecting a deer in a lions den. However, now they actually acknowledge me, they smile at me, they say hello back to me. I have had a few ask if I would be joining training with the guards here as they have heard I train with the guards at the werewolf kingdom.
I ended up spitballing with Dimitri, Atlantis, Sam, and Vincent about a joint training session. They are unsure of this but they really will need to be working together soon. Especially once our castle is created… I also spent time with his dad. We talked about a lot, even discussed different plans and ideas. We spit balled off of each other and I loved it. He can be a bit harsh but I like it. They also hired a chef for when I am there. It’s sweet. The chef is a vampire who actually had volunteered to be my personal chef.
Overall, this week has been very busy and I feel it has been very productive…
I finish using the bathroom and I find my coffee and breakfast on the counter. They took off while I was in the bathroom. I really thought I was being sneaky and letting them sleep. I find a note next to the donut and bowl of fruit:
Good morning little dove,
We had to leave while you were in the bathroom. Otherwise we may not have been able to peel ourselves away.. Please keep us updated with your whereabouts and wellbeing.
We have something planned tonight..

Hmm. Something planned? Wonder what that is…
I shrug and eat my breakfast.
After I eat I read my book and then shower.
I look and it’s time. I quickly text both Dimitri and Sam:
Heading to lunch. I will see you both soon. Love Alexis.
After I sent the text I created a portal and walked through it. I was instantly welcomed by my mom and Isabella.
“Oh hello sweetheart!” My mom says with a smile as she hugs me.
“What are you doing here today?? Do you not have a lot of preparations??” Isabella asks worried as she hugs me.
“I am here to have lunch with Caitlyn. I need to have a little break from everything. Plus I am still not allowed anywhere near the preparations. I have everything I need to know memorized and I am as ready as I can be..” I respond a little defeated and really needing this break.
“Which is exactly why we have a lunch, just the two of us together.” Caitlyn explains happily as she comes up and hugs me with a big smile.
They both smile in response.
“Enjoy your time. I am actually heading to meet up with your men right now. I will see you tomorrow sweetie.” Isabella states and gives both of us a hug.
“I am beyond excited for tomorrow. I am going to help a little today as well. I love both of you.” My mom says and then hugs both of us.
“I love you.” Caitlyn and I both respond at the same time causing us to laugh.
The two walk away and we turn to head to the cafeteria. As we enter the cafeteria we are welcomed by unbelievable scents and aromas. I take a deep inhale to fully enjoy the smells coming from the kitchen.
“I am beyond thrilled that you are here!” I hear Rita’s voice. I turn around and she is standing there with a huge smile and open arms.
I welcome her embrace and give her a big hug. I have been missing her and her cooking!
“How is the future queen doing??” She asks beaming ear to ear.
I smile. “I am doing ok. Just a little stressed out but I’m hoping this amazing lunch will help take a little of the stress off of my back.” I respond.
She laughs. “I hope you girls enjoy yourself! You deserve it.” She smiles as she hands me a basket filled with food.
“Thank you Rita, for everything.” I respond with a smile.
“Anything for you sweetie.” She adds and walks away beaming with pride.
Caitlyn asks with an arm outstretched for me, “shall we?”
I hook my arm in hers, “we shall!” I respond and we both laugh and head to the secret garden.
