Chapter 27: Explanation

ALEXIS’ POV::
After I slowly chugged my glass of water, Sam began slowly feeding me the fruit while Dimitri switched the first ice pack to a new one. The first was fully thawed already.
Silence.
“Can someone PLEASE tell me what is going on????” I plead. “Sam? Dimitri???” I ask unable to turn and look at them.
Dimitri uses the hand that is not holding the ice pack to hold my hand.
“Can we ask first what the vision was about?” He asks so calmly and gently.
A huge lump appears in my throat.
I cannot tell everyone what I saw..
Sam grabs my other hand.
“Alexis. We will tell you everything you want to know. But we really need to know what you saw.. What did you see??” Sam asks as softly and sweetly as he could. Then kissed the top of my head.
I look at everyone. I make eye contact with Quentin, he nods slowly.
The door opens again causing everyone to jump.
“Relax. It’s just me. I got here as fast as I could. So what is going on?” Crystal asks annoyed but eager to help.
“I’m sorry that they had to bother you Crystal..” I start to apologize.
She climbs into the bed directly in front of me.
“Hush my child. What did you see?” She always cuts right to the point. There are no detours when it comes to Crystal. Just straight to the point.
I swallow the lump that is in my throat.
I explain everything. Between Celestia and her having me tied up to a chair in some tiny room.
The room is silent.
Crystal gets off the bed and leaves.
Not a single word. No goodbye. Nothing. Just leaves. I throw my head back in defeat.
Only then do I notice that the ceiling is burnt.
What the hell happened???
“I will find her and I will kill her. She absolutely will not get her hands on you!” Dimitri says angrily.
Everyone erupts in to arguing and discussing what to do or what can be done.
“ENOUGH!” I yell.
Everyone stops and looks at me.
“Can someone please explain what happened?” I am to the point of begging.
Silence.
“Well it had. first started the way it normally does. You started convulsing. So Samual and I found a way to keep you from hurting yourself. Then you began sweating profusely.. Worse than any other time.. That’s when you started screaming.. As everyone started rushing into the room your body began levitating. You went silent and then screaming again. However, this time it was more of screech… Then your body caught on fire... Which thankfully your mom was able to put out the fire just as fast as it stated…” He pauses.
“Then what???” I am on the verge of tears.
“As soon as the fire was put out you began convulsing.. While still in the air. Then randomly stopped. But it looked like you were being squeezed.. Or constricted. You couldn’t move and your head was flopping around.. It looked almost like…” Sam stops.
“I was tied up? It looked like I was tied up?” I ask even though I knew the answer.
Silence.
“But there was one last thing..” Sam adds interrupting.
“What??” I ask eager to know everything.
“Right before your body dropped to the bed your head turned to the side, your eyes opened and were black, and you said, “I WILL get her”. Sam answers with anger and fear in his voice.
“The voice that escaped from your mouth was not yours Alexis.” Dimitri adds.
What??? Not my voice?!
“Was it…” I start.
“No. No it was not Nala’s either.” My sister interrupts.
I can see the tears in her eyes, the fear and anger that she is wearing across her face.
“We won’t let anything happen to you Alexis.” I hear Alec, Dimitri’s father speaks for the first time since the incident. “I will see to it that no one harms you.. We must work together.”
“We will research ways to protect you. We will work together to find this vile creature and put a stop to her. No one is going to hurt my little daughter-in-law.” Quentin adds in agreement.
Everyone agrees.
Eventually after a while everyone leaves the room. They all talked about ways to protect me while I just sat here feeling lost and confused.
Why does she want me so bad?
Clearly she took control of my vision.. But how?
How did she control it and control my body on the outside?
I need to find out how in order to prevent this happening again.
“I thought my mom and Crystal put spells to protect me over the castle? How did she manage to get to me??” I ask Dimitri and Sam, interrupting their conversation.
Silence.
I am slowly getting feeling back and sit up by myself.
“I thought I was safe from her here? How did she get me? How did she have control of me??” I ask on the verge of tears.
Silence. I can tell both are lost in thought.
That’s when the door flies open again.
It’s Crystal and she looks exhausted but also like I can see adrenaline pumping through her body. She has two books in her hands.
She opens the first and tosses it at me. I catch it. It is in an other language and I cannot understand any of it.
“I cannot read this.. It’s in an other language.” I state.
“For when you dream, your mind takes your body to an other dimension.” Dimitri reads aloud.
“What does that mean?” I ask.
“It means that even though I protected the cottage and the castle she can still reach you when you go to sleep. When you sleep. Your mind does not simply just shut off… No. it guides you into an other dimension. The dream world.. Which is how you are always more susceptible to your visions when you sleep…” she adds with a smile.
“So when I’m assume she can hurt me?? How is this good news? Why are you smiling? I cannot skip sleep for the rest of my life.” I ask annoyed, tired, and stressed out.
She laughs.
I sigh loudly.
“My dear girl. I can see you are tired and not fully following this… Here drink this.” She says as she conjures something into her hand.
Sam grabs it from her and looks at it.
“Don’t worry dog. This will just help get her strength back as she was drained some energy from both the vision, the seizures, and using her powers..” Crystal explains.
Sam hands me the cup very hesitantly .
I look at the green mixture in the cup, swirl it, and then quickly down it.
I gag and Sam gives me a cup of water quickly.
She laughs. “s**t’s nasty, is it not? But it works quickly.”
I was annoyed until I felt all of my energy and strength return. Then I smile at her in return. “So nasty, tasted like a dirty sock! But thank you. I feel completely better already… Now what is that other book for?” I ask her.
She turns and her expression changes quickly.
“I am going to need to put a spell INSIDE your mind. I need to protect your mind, body and more importantly, your soul.. This spell will protect you while you sleep..” she pauses.
“Ok? So what is the problem?” I ask confused.
“First I’m going to need your mom and Velkan. I need extra power.. I need you onboard before I talk to them..” she adds.
“What’s the catch?”’Dimitri asks.
“Well..” Crystal starts.
The door flies open.
“ABSOLUTELY NOT! Crystal this is not ok and I cannot believe you would even suggest something like this!” My mom came in fuming with an equally angry Velkan behind her.
Soon everyone comes piling back in.
My mom just keeps yelling. I am so confused on what is going on.
“Mom. Stop.” I try to get her to stop and nothing.
“Mom, STOP!” Nothing.
“ENOUGH!!!” I yell.
Finally everyone stops and is looking at me.
“Crystal. What does this spell entail?” I ask looking directly at an annoyed Crystal.
