VOWS OF VENGEANCE

CHAPTER 3

‎Kevin did what I least expected, he laughed at me, now I stood here staring at him and feeling very stupid and it made me annoyed.

‎I gritted my teeth trying to stay calm, "did I say something funny kev".

‎"No, no, no you didn't", he tried to stifle his laughter, "it just that you are so cute trying to protect me",he sighed,"look babe, I don't want you to get involved, just keep this quiet okay, I will handle it"

‎"But what do you plan to do", I insisted.

‎I said I will handle it, now stay in your place and stop trying to interfere", he growled clearly pissed. I was shocked, I didn't expect him to be angry.

‎"I am sorry, I didn't mean to, I will be in my office". I quickly stepped out of his office, if there was anything that terrified me it was Kevin anger and it was not something I wanted to experience, I made a mental note to send him an apology message.

‎I kept my self busy, we had a lot of arrangements and calls to make because the designing of paradox hotel won't plan itself. I just dropped a call to a supplier when menzel walked in.

‎"Good afternoon miss Amira"

‎"Good afternoon menzel", I smiled, I have told you not to address me as miss, Amira is just fine".

‎She smiled,"the cops are in the lounge, they are requesting to you", she said totally ignoring my statement, ".

‎Immediately she mentioned the cops I started hyperventilating, I suddenly became nervous.

‎"Miss Amira, are you okay", menzel looked concerned,"you look pale".

‎"Ahemm",I cleared my throat,"I am okay, send them here".

‎She nodded though she looked concerned about me, but I had to put on a tough face, I couldn't give myself away.

‎Few minutes later, the cops walked into my office, I stood up to greet them,

‎"Good day officers", I stretched my hands for a hand shake, and "please sit".

‎"There will be no need for that, I am detective Steve and this is Detective Harrison, you are under arrest for the murder of Miss Aisha"

‎"Wait, what!!!! I didn't kill her, I do not know what you are talking about", I turned to menzel who was looking at me in surprise and concerned, I was petrified, the detective had already handcuffed me and begun dragging me away, I turned to menzel, "please inform Kevin that I have been arrested", I pleaded

‎It has been three days since I was arrested and I haven't seen Kevin, alot has been going on through my mind, was he safe or had he bailed on me, turned his back on me, I hoped it was not the latter, I was trying to get use to this terrible environment, two days ago all I did was scream and cry but when I saw it was not helping I resigned to been quiet.

‎"Miss Amira",a cop called out to me, snapping me out of my thoughts,"you have a visitor".

‎"Who is it",I asked hastily, but the cop turned away without responding to my desperate attempt to get an answer out of him. I follow the cop to the visitor quarter and there I saw the very man I longed to see "Kevin".

‎"Hello Amira", he looked so immaculate in his blue tuxedo, he looked handsome and well kempt, seeing him,I felt anger rouse in my heart.

‎"I have been here for three days Kevin and you didn't care to come and see me", I said.

‎"Listen to me, your arrest caused quite a stir and we almost lost the paradox hotel contract", he answered smugly,"I had to pull some string to retain the contract, our stock price dropped because of my girlfriend got herself involved in the murder of our staff" he sneered.

‎"why are you speaking to me in that tone", tears gathered in my eyes,"I didn't kill her, you have to tell them Kevin, I didn't kill her, you know that", I answered in a still voice clearly confused.

‎"Honey", Kevin was back to sounding sweet,"listen to me, if I accept to commiting this crime, we will lose K&A, our investors will withdraw, just imagined the amount of damage that was caused due to your arrest, what more the CEO of K&A,I am doing this for us, if I can stay out of jail, then I can afford a good lawyer for you, you will be free and we won't be affected neither will I or our company but if it were the other way around we will lose everything, just think about it.

‎I bowed my head in consideration then I looked at him with teary eyes, I nodded in agreement.

‎"You promise to get me out of this terrible place right" I persisted.

‎"I promise to protect you and the company although there is one problem", he revealed. curiosity hit me, what could possibly be wrong, he must have sense it cause he immediately cleared the air.

‎"Don't worry your pretty head baby", he looked away worried,"it is just that you are still a significant shareholder and this will still affect the company significantly, but it can be averted".

‎"Kevin, how can it be averted", I was anxious at this point, I could barely sit still.

‎"Well all you have to do is sign this document and join our shares, that way we are secure, I will be the shareholder that is known, the face of our shares, that way we will be saved". I nodded continuously cause it made a lot of sense, he was right.

‎"Let's do it", Kevin looked happy and satisfied.‎I felt happy too, I was gonna leave this place too or so it seemed, who knew this was gonna be the last day I would see Kevin.

‎There was no lawyer, and I ended up being sentenced to jail for life imprisonment for a crime I didn't commit. It was at that moment I realized that Kevin used me and I vowed to make his life a living hell, I will take everything back but the big question was how was I gonna fulfill my new found passion for revenge.
