While travelling, Vert came upon a demon encampment. There were two guards outside it and around one hundred other demons inside.
When Vert walked up to the encampment gate, the guards spoke to him:
"Welcome, traveller! If you want to enter, you'll have to pay a small fee of five coppers."
Vert was caught off by this, because, clearly, they're demons. But, he didn't let it bother him too much and paid the fee. The guards opened the gates for him and, before entering, Vert spoke to them:
"I'd like to speak to the person in charge here, if at all possible."
One of the guards immediately replied:
"Oh, that's fine, but the commander's a little bit busy. You'll have to wait for about ten minutes."
"Alright, I'm a patient man, I'll wait even an hour if needed."
