Fall of the Traitor

573 Words
Dromer, after Trey left, called in his right-hand man: "Reorth! Come here, I need to talk to you." Reorth, the previous king of the Kingdom, came into the throne room. "Yes, Dorian? What did you want to talk to me about?" "I'm leaving for the continent across the ocean. There's something I need to take care of over there. And I need you to keep everyone in line." Reorth accepted Dromer's request. With that, Dromer left the palace and went into the plains around Gyera to leave for the other continent. 'Vert, get ready, you piece of shit... Time for you to die.' Dromer jumped high into the air, assumed his angel body and flew towards the other continent. He spent three days in flight and, finally, reached the other continent and the crash site of Vert who was still recuperating from the powerful attack. "Vert, you traitorous bastard! I'll make sure you don't side with the demons by killing you here and now!!!" Dromer shouted while hovering in the air right above Vert. "Come and get me then, you weakling!" Vert challenged him. The battle commenced. Dromer retracted his wings and was falling right upon Vert with his sword drawn. Vert, not at his full strength yet, dodged Dromer's attack by a millimetre but was sent flying by the shockwave. "Hah! Is that all you can do?" Vert mocked Dromer. "No, it is not, as you'll soon see," Dromer replied and gathered all of his mana into a single outlet point and released it as a projectile towards Vert, hitting him in the chest. Upon impact, the mana ball exploded with the power of four hundred atomic bombs and left a crater the size of an asteroid. Vert, was nowhere to be seen. Only his sword and armour remained. 'Alright... There's no way he survived that one...' Dromer thought to himself and flew back to Gyera. This time, since Dromer expended all of his mana, the flight took him six days. Once back in his bedroom, he fell asleep immediately and woke up only two days later. After waking up, Dromer contacted Trey via telepathy. "Trey, can you hear me?" "Yes, Dromer, I can, what's up?" "Eight days ago I flew to the continent I sent Vert flying to and killed him. I know I shouldn't have done that, but if he had sided with the demons, Leyta would be destroyed." There was a long pause before Trey answered: "I won't lie. I wanted to kill him myself, but I see you beat me to it. Oh well, at least you've eliminated the possibility of him betraying us." "That I did, my friend. Well, I'll be returning to my duties. I'll contact you once again after some time. Goodbye." "Goodbye, buddy." Dromer severed the telepathic connection and went to the throne room. As soon as he sat down on his throne, Reorth came in: "Dorian, there's a message for you from the Chronicle guild." "Let me see it then," Dromer ordered. Reorth handed a scroll to him, and Dromer immediately opened it. He chuckled after reading it. "Hah, it seems that the Great Empire is at war with a nation on the opposite borders. They're asking for help. Call general Lertan here." "As you wish, Lord." Reorth bowed and went to find Lertan. 'This will be the first taste of war for the soldiers of my nation... I hope they do well.'
