Gone, but Not Forgotten

A year passed by and the technology level in Lerna Sovereignty had reached its highest level. One day, a creepy feeling came over Dromer, as he sat at his desk. 'I haven't sensed any demons anywhere... If they've somehow managed to conceal themselves from detection magic, then this is a huge problem... For now, I'll keep my mind sharp.' This was weird to Dromer because normally, he's keeping an eye on the demons and would be waiting for them to start an attack. But, two months ago, the demons suddenly disappeared into nothingness. 'Could this mean that Perfentius has taken over Reftia? No, wait... He already gained control over Reftia the moment he killed Verdactius...' Without a clear read on the situation, Dromer could only prepare for the worst. From that day, the presence of demons was non-existent. While the situation in Leyta was getting better, the situation in Reftia was so dire, the other angels who inhabited it were starting to lose hope. Many were imprisoned, even more, were enslaved and even more were ruthlessly killed. The imprisoned angels were the only ones who still held on with the hope that one day, their homeland will be back to normal, while the enslaved angels had lost all hope and were just waiting for their deaths to come. Since time moved much slower in Reftia than Lerna, Perfentius and Revirius still did not know who or where the three strongest angels of the Council of Ten were. "Revirius! I thought you'd get me the information I asked for from you much sooner! Are you hiding something from me?!" Perfentius screamed at Revirius with his spear aimed at Revirius' neck. "Perfentius, I need a little bit more time. Verdactius added an encryption spell to keep anyone else other than him from removing the time slowing spell. Also, put that damn spear away or I'll take it from you and stick it so deep in your ass, you'll be able to eat a watermelon whole and it will end up cut in half in your stomach, got it?!" With that, Perfentius put the spear away and went towards the imprisonment area of the angels. "Alright, you feathered f***s, time for some interrogation!" While Perfentius was interrogating the prisoners, Revirius went to Verdactius' home and searched every nook and cranny. After two hours of searching, Revirius found absolutely nothing, not even a clue. 'Does that mean that Verdactius had the encryption key memorized? But that's practically impossible, seeing as the encryption keys are normally more than a thousand characters... Then again, knowing Verdactius, he never intended for it to be removed and he just randomly added characters,' Revirius thought to himself, 'Alright, screw it, I'll just override it with my magic power.' After Revirius returned to the mainframe, that was inside of a tall tower, he started transferring all of his mana into a panel, but, as soon as he started doing that, the mainframe's security feature activated and it grabbed onto his arms, locking him in place and started draining him of all the mana he had. "Override attempt detected: Activating countermeasures," a metallic voice announced. "AHHH! What is this?!" Revirius cried out in fear. Five minutes later, the machine had drained him of all mana. "Mana levels for override, not yet reached. Mana capacity until the override is successful - 0.0000000000001% to try and reach the capacity, mana will be substituted with life force," the same metallic voice announced and started sucking out Revirius' life force. The pain he endured was nothing short of sheer agony and then some. Revirius was screaming in pain and agony for an hour before his vocal cords gave in and he wasn't able to make a sound anymore. Perfentius came into the room and saw when he saw what was happening to Revirius, took out his spear and tried to destroy the panel. "Destruction attempt registered. Proceeding to eliminate the aggressor." With that announcement, the panel changed to a red colour and all statues within the room started moving to kill Perfentius. Since he was standing in front of one of those statues, he was almost killed but managed to escape, leaving Revirius to die by the attacks of the statues. 'You will not be forgotten, Revirius, this I vow, my friend.'
