After Dromer sat down, the man spoke to him:
"I am Jendar, the ruler of Tech Tremor, a pleasure to make you acquaintance. From what I've heard, you lead quite a formidable army and you, yourself, are four times as strong as your entire army. Is this true?"
Dromer immediately snapped out of his stupor and replied:
"Pleased to meet you too, sir Jendar. As you know, I am Dorian, the ruler of Lerna Sovereignty. What you've heard about me and my army is completely true, but, quite exaggerated. While the army I lead is quite formidable in the eyes of the other countries, I am not four times stronger than the entire army. While I could defeat four of my soldiers at the same time, five would be impossible."
"I see," Jendar nodded, "Also, there's no need for formalities since we're both rulers of equally strong countries. So, what did you want to discuss with me?"
"Alright, there's no need for formalities with me either. I came here to discuss if you'd be interested in forming a peace treaty with my nation and also allying with my nation. And also, if at all possible, I'd like you to tell me a bit about the level which your technology is at. I've never seen anything like it before." Dromer replied.
Jendar thought to himself for a bit
'Hmm... If this alliance were to become a reality, he's probably going to ask for access to our resources, which I cannot give... Alright, I've decided.'
"Dorian," Jendar gave him a serious look, "if you beat me in a mock battle, I'll accept your proposal. But, if you lose, the peace talks will end and I'll declare war on your country, destroy it, and take its lands for myself. If you refuse the mock battle, as soon as you turn to leave, I will cleave your head from your shoulders and put it on a pike in the centre of your capital city. Will that be okay?"
Dromer laughed:
"Ha ha ha! My friend, you don't know what you've gotten yourself into... With a threat like that, I'll take you up on your offer for a battle, but, I want to set up some rules."
Intrigued, Jendar replied: "Alright, what are your rules?"
"This won't be a mock battle. It will be a battle to the death... The winner takes the other's land as their own and is free to do whatever he wants. The loser, has no benefits since he's gonna be dead," Dromer stared at Jendar menacingly, "Are you okay with those rules?"
"Yes," Jendar replied, "I am completely okay with such rules. I just hope you'll be able to entertain me a bit."
With that, both stood up and headed for the arena.
In five minutes, they were inside of the arena, ready to battle. Jendar had put on the shiny armour he saw the guards outside using, but it wasn't silver-coloured, it was golden. The arena was full of spectators rooting for their ruler.
Jendar lifted his arm with his palm facing outwards and the crown got silent.
"My people!" Jendar spoke to the spectators, "This, will be a battle to the death! Know, that this brave fighter, known as Dorian, accepted my challenge and, as a courtesy, I allowed him to choose the conditions of the battle. He chose it to be a battle to the death. The rules here are simple! If I lose to Dorian, Tech Tremor will become a part of his country, Lerna Sovereignty! If I kill him though, Lerna Sovereignty will become a part of Tech Tremor! Let it be known, that these are the rules we both accepted!"
After such an announcement, the crowd started to cheer for both fighters.
"Jendar, are you ready?" Dromer asked.
As soon as Jendar nodded, Dromer pulled out his sword, appeared right in front of Jendar and made an upwards s***h at him. Jendar reacted in time and blocked the first strike, but not without getting his armour heavily damaged.
After that, Jendar leapt backwards and spoke to Dromer: "This is gonna be fun, Dorian! Now, I'll show you everything that I can do."
With that, Jendar's armour's right arm transformed into a huge sword and he lunged at Dromer. The strike was blocked and stopped. Dromer didn't move a muscle from his position.
Both of them went at it for two hours blocking and evading each other's attacks. The crowd was looking at the battle with shock and amazement. At the two hour mark, Jendar was exhausted, but Dromer was still full of energy.
'Huff... Huff... How is this possible?!' Jendar thought to himself awaiting Dromer's last attack which never came. He lowered his arm and looked at Dromer, who was staring right into his eyes a bit further away. He was just standing there, looking at Jander as if he knew he's gonna win. Then, he finally spoke.
"So, Jander. You are still able to stand! I commend you for that, but, I think it's time to end this, don't you? I know you're holding back on me."
Jander looked at Dromer with a shocked expression and replied: "You want me to go at you full strength? You must be joking, you'll die instantly!"
Dromer chuckled: "We'll see about that. You see, I don't put my trust in technology that drains away my mana as if it were a starved wolf. I put my trust in my own body that I've trained for many years."
With that remark, Jander got angry and activated the overdrive mode for his armour. The green lights, embedded into the surface of it, turned red.
"Now we're talking!" Dromer shouted and pointed his sword and Jander, "Come at me, you sack of frozen flesh!!!"
Jendar lunged towards Dromer with five times the normal speed. Dromer, anticipating Jendar's speed being much higher, jumped into the air and evaded him. Jander stopped fifteen metres away from Dromer's position and turned around.
"Good idea, dodging that one," Jendar said to Dromer.
"I dodged to see how fast you move and then decide how to best kill you in one shot, and I have a strategy already."
With that, Jander once again attacked Dromer. This time though, Dromer didn't jump up, he dashed to the side and slashed at him. Dromer's sword cut through all armour that Jander had and cut him in half, killing him instantly.
The audience was silent. Then, after two minutes of silence, they all cheered for 'Dorian'.
With that, the territory of Lerna Sovereignty became two times larger than previously and had a small hole in the middle of it called Trenice.
