They were serious.
They really were.
I shook my head slightly.
“No… that’s not possible. That’s—those aren’t real.”
Valeria stepped closer.
“Look at me.”
I hesitated.
Then did.
Her eyes—
Shifted.
For a split second—
They glowed a deep, unnatural crimson.
My breath caught.
“That’s not…” I whispered.
The Headmaster’s voice came again, calm but firm.
“You’ve already seen it, haven’t you?”
Kael’s golden eyes.
Adrian’s red ones.
The way they moved.
The way they looked at me.
My stomach dropped.
“This school,” he continued, “is where their heirs are trained. Royals. Nobles. Leaders.”
Everything started making sense.
Too much sense.
“Their enemies,” Valeria added softly.
My head snapped toward her.
“Enemies?”
Her lips curved slightly.
“Werewolves and vampires do not coexist peacefully.”
A chill ran down my spine.
“And yet…” she continued, her gaze locking onto mine, “you’ve managed to draw the attention of both.”
My throat went dry.
“I didn’t mean to,” I said quickly.
“We know,” the Headmaster replied.
That didn’t make me feel better.
I shook my head again, trying to process everything.
“This… this is insane,” I whispered.
Valeria’s expression softened just slightly.
“It is your reality now.”
My heart pounded harder.
“Why am I here?” I asked. “If I’m human… why would you let me into a place like this?”
Another pause.
This one heavier than the last.
Then—
Valeria stepped closer again.
“You are not entirely human,” she said quietly.
My breath stopped.
“I—I am,” I insisted, but my voice lacked confidence now.
Her eyes held mine.
“Not for long.”
Fear gripped my chest.
“What does that mean?” I asked.
But again—
No clear answer.
The Headmaster stepped in.
“For now, you will continue attending classes.”
“For now?” I echoed.
Valeria nodded slightly.
“That depends on what you become.”
My stomach twisted.
“And if I become… something bad?” I asked carefully.
The air shifted.
Cold.
Sharp.
“Then,” the Headmaster said calmly, “you will be dealt with.”
A chill ran through me.
I didn’t ask what that meant.
I already knew.
Valeria stepped back.
“You may go, Miss Vale.”
This time—
I didn’t argue.
I turned and walked toward the door, my mind spinning, my heart racing.
Werewolves.
Vampires.
And somehow…
Me.
When I stepped out into the hallway, everything felt different.
Like I was seeing it all clearly for the first time.
The students.
The stares.
The danger.
I wasn’t just out of place here.
I was surrounded by predators.
And worst of all—
Something inside me was starting to feel like one of them.
---
Inside the office…
“She knows,” the Headmaster said quietly.
Valeria smiled faintly.
“Not everything.”
Her eyes glowed again.
“But enough to begin.”
"oh and one more thing Valkone... mind the way you speak to her. She is nobility and the next time I detect your arrogant tone in her presence I'll make sure to rip your throat out and feed it to the dogs. Even though she's nobility I'm not saying you should give a special attention I'm just saying show her a little more respect else don't blame me for what I'll do"
Valkone is slightly taken a back and try to hide his fear he may be a powerful wolf but it's not worth fighting a vampire of over 700 years "*sighs* Valeria....is she really that important"
valeria turns to look at him "you mortals are indeed very foolish even as a wolf you can't smell your own nobility well if not for the fact of you being able to smell your a wolf noble at least be wise enough to know that she's a vampire noble too and offending her means me ripping out your throat, so just treat her like a normal student with a little more respect so that nothing becomes obvious and we don't put her in danger.....is that understood?"
"Fine, yes it is. I won't anger her,.... happy?".
Valeria just looks at him, gives a slight nod and then walks out
