• • • • Shariana opened one of the stable doors and rode out looking calm and relaxed. Like she didn't have a care in the world. Inside, she was nothing but nerves. Out of the corner of her eye the dark rider’s horses shifted. They were expecting a chase and were ready for it. She steered Safir towards the five riders, her back to the gates of Allond. The Songweaver patted Safir on the neck, "Be ready, my friend." Shariana rode within spitting distance of the men, "Gentlemen. Are you waiting for me?" Time seemed to slow for a moment.
