35I turned off the shower spray, pushed the plastic curtain aside, and grabbed a damp towel from the hook on the back of the door. I’d hung the DO NOT DISTURB sign on my doorknob when Neal came to my room this morning. I hadn’t removed it until a half hour ago. The price for privacy was no dry towel. I blotted water from my hair and wrapped the towel around my head. I grabbed a second one and patted myself gently. My trumpeter lover had played me like the Angel Gabriel. He’d woven tender notes into his passionate riffs. My heart was full of joy. Every cell in my body vibrated with pleasure. I hadn’t heard from some of those cells for a long time. It’d take me a while to catalog all the new sensations. I didn’t want to erase a single skin-cell memory. I was sorry I had to wash away
