Chapter 2

AFTER ONE YEAR...

I'm now working here in LS Enterprises in the Philippines and they actually pay well. My mom is still undergoing therapy, my brother goes to a decent school and I pay all our bills. My life is okay... I couldn't ask for more.

"Huy!" Tawag sa akin ni Jane.

"Bakit?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

"Darating daw dito si Mr. Black!" Excited niyang sabi.

"M-Mr. Black?"

"Oo! Di mo ba siya kilala? Lucas Xavier Black! Grabe! Ang gwapo nun! Daig pa si Sir Lance...."

No way in hell.... I don't want to see his face, paano kaya kung mag half day ako? Sasabihin kong may sakit ako?

"Kelan ba ang dating?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

"Ngayon! Mamayang 8:30, malapit na... 8:20 na" sabi niya habang kinikilig.

"Gawin mo nalang yang trabaho mo, mamaya matambakan ka dyan eh." Masungit na sabi ko.

"Opo ma'am." Sarcastic na sabi niya at tumingin sa computer niya.

Nagtratrabaho kaming lahat nang tumunog ang Elevator sa floor namin. Lumingon kaming lahat doon at nakita namin si Sir Lance na lumabas kasama Ang secretary niya na si Elaine at dalawang bodyguard at panghuli si Lucas....

"Ang gwapo." Jane whispered beside me.

We all stood up to welcome their presence. We formed a line and greeted them.

"Grace..." Tawag sa akin ni Sir Lance.

"Sir?" Tanong ko.

"Can you keep us accompanied?"

"Sir... Ako nalang, may mga ginagawa pa kasi si Grace eh." Sabi ni Beth. Ang maharot naming katrabaho.

"Oo nga po Sir... Di ko pa po tapos yung pinagagawa niyo sa akin... Si Beth nalang po." nagbabakasakali kong sabi.

"Okay... See you later Grace."

"See you when I see you, Sir Lance."

"Okay. All of you may go back to work."

I sighed in relief. I don't want to be with Lucas even for just a second. I was about to sit when someone called my name. Tinignan ko kung sino at nakita ko si Lucas, staring intently at me.

"Grace." He said.

"Do you need anything, Sir? If you need something just ask Pia over there, she will get you what you need. I need to go back to my work. Enjoy your day Sir." I said and sat back down.

Umalis si Lucas sa harap namin at tinignan naman ako ni Jane.

"Bakit?" Takang tanong ko.

"Di porket maganda ka at paborito ka ni Sir Lance pwede mo nang kausapin ng ganon si Sir Lucas... Grabe ka te, siguro kung di ka lang maganda... baka sisante ka na dito, Kung ako yung nasa posisyon mo kanina, baka nahimatay na ako."

"Ang OA mo naman... Para yun lang, I'm being professional by talking to him like that, there is nothing wrong with that. If he finds it rude then sorry, but for me, that's not rude at all." Sabi ko sa kanya.

"Ayan nanaman eh... English nanaman, Kano lang yung tatay mo tapos pati kami ini-english english mo!"

"FYI.... My father is Greek, yung nanay ko po yung Amerikana."

"Basta... Ganun nadin yun!"

"Just go back to work."

After a few hours, we heard the intercom system.

"Ms. Grace Thompson, Ms. Grace Thompson... Sir Lance wanted to see you in his office, thank you."

"Ayan na.... Tinatawag ka na niya. Sagutin mo na kasi eh."

"Para kang tanga, sira!"

I went to Sir Lance's office. I knocked at the door.

"Come in."

"Sir... Do you need anything?" I asked.

I looked around and saw HIM. None other than Lucas Xavier Black.

"Um... What did I tell you? Do not call me Sir or Mr. just call me by my name."

"Okay, Lance."

"Can you assist Mr. Black to the meeting room for the meeting that will be held later?"

"Ako? Um.... Pwedeng si Elaine nalang po? besides he's your secretary...."

"May ginagawa pa si Elaine eh. Tsaka alam mo bang ito ang pinili ni Mr. Black na maging partner ng Company niya for our next project? Pero di lang yun, he reviewed all of you here bago niya in-approve."

"Why are you telling me this? It's not like I'm the only employee here. Meron pa pong iba dyan. Some other employee doesn't have much work to do. Pwedeng sila nalang." I explained.

"It's not about the other employees... Ikaw ang pinagkakatiwalaan ko. You are the most efficient employee I have. Please don't disappoint me Grace."

I looked at Lucas and to Lance. f**k! Bakit ako pa? Nakakainis naman eh!

"Okay, Lance... This way Mr. Black."

"By the way Grace... From today onwards all of you are going to call Mr. Black, 'Sir Lucas' understood?" Lance said touching his chin.

"Yes..." I replied.

We went out of the office and went to the elevator. The ride was silent. No one dares to talk. We reached the designated floor for the meeting.

"Good morning Sir Lucas, Grace.... Pwedeng paki-bigay 'to kay Sir Lance?" Sabi ng isang katrabaho ko.

"Bakit ako? You can give it to Elaine."

"Baka di tanggapin ni Sir. Alam mo namang ikaw lang ang nakakalapit sa kanya ng hindi niya sinisigawan eh."

"Okay.... Inform nalang kita mamaya."

"Thank you talaga Grace."

We continued to walk in the hallway and all eyes were on us. Lahat ng nadadaanan namin ay lumilingon. My phone rang in my pocket.

"Hello?"

"Um... This is Mr. Anderson's Secretary... Um, I just want to know if the invitation is emailed to Mr. Lance Smith? Kasi bukas na yung event."

"Uh... Yes, I emailed it already. I-double check ko nalang mamaya kung natanggap niya na."

"Thank you, Grace"

"That's nothing, sige, bye."

I ended the call and put it back in my pocket. Jane approached us in the middle of the hallway.

"Grace..."
