Chapter XVI
I WOKE UP IN MY old room, feeling more at home in Magnus’s mansion than I had felt anywhere in a long time. I stretched and enjoyed the warm sunlight for a moment before everything rushed back in. The memory of the attack and my unchecked rage, Tali being the culprit, Anhubis’s death and Seth’s coldness. Suddenly, I didn’t feel like getting up anymore. If I closed the door and the window, I could keep everything and everyone outside.
