Epilogue I CLOSED THE DOOR BEHIND me and locked it. I dropped my bag to the floor and slid my jacket off my shoulders. “There you are,” Seth said, his voice as warm as his smile. “Honey, I’m home,” I said. Seth chuckled and pulled me into a hug. “Welcome home.” “I’m quitting,” I said, the words muffled. I didn’t care, it felt good to be pressed so snugly into him. “You say that at least once a week, yet you never do it.” “I tried.” “They wouldn’t let you, would they?” “No, apparently you can’t quit being the boss.” “Victor quote?” I nodded. “He’s the actual boss, he doesn’t need me around. He runs the club and everything else.” Seth kissed my temple. “That’s because you’re not their boss. You’re their leader.” “I don’t want to be a bunch of vampires’ leader.” “Too late.” Seth
