THE FIRST TIME I SAW Hesrah after her finding out about my new arrangement with Anthony was at a council meeting about a potential situation in the States. A group of fourth generation vampires would gather s*x offenders and murderers, those they’d deemed sociopaths or unable to ever change their evil ways, and organized elaborate hunts twice a year. They’d gotten sloppy and bodies had been found in the desert, somewhere near Las Vegas. The High Council had demanded they stop, but they’d refused. It was their only outlet for the animals inside, a time to hunt and drink fresh from the source.
