CHERYL looked up from the cards on the table. “You already know what you need to do, Shonda. We talk about this every time you come here. Your reading has been almost the same for months.” She didn’t usually use this tone with her clients, but Shonda was a regular who needed some convincing to act.
“I know, but I’m waiting for the time to be right.” She pushed her long black braids behind her shoulders. She was so young. Her full, round face shone with an innocent enthusiasm that Cheryl wished she still had.
