"Oh sorry," a voice called out, stopping them suddenly from kissing.
"Alex, I thought you left," Celine said, pulling away from Lucas. Her face flushed with embarrassment, and she wished she could disappear.
"Yeah, I did, but I realized I took your dad's blood pressure checker by mistake, and I thought you might need it." He placed the device on the table with a quick glance around the room.
"I didn't want to interrupt anything, you know?" he added, looking at Lucas with strained eyes.
Celine couldn't ask Alex to stay because it would be awkward given the situation. "Okay, Alex, we'll see each other tomorrow, right?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly.
"Yeah, don't worry." He replied. "Lucas," he called as he walked to the door and left.
"Gosh, what just happened?" Celine said out
